ad | Autumn will always have my heart 🍂🤎

October has landed and I need no excuse, give me warm lighting, rich earthy colours and all the lovely layers and textures and I’m happy 🤎

I’ve been styling some beautiful pieces from the @orkishome Autumn Collection in the kitchen snug and they couldn’t be more at home in here. I’m always drawn to pieces with texture and character that feel as though they could have been collected over time, and the quality of these is absolutely gorgeous.

I think the hydrangeas might be my favourite — the colours are just so beautifully rich and perfect for Autumn styling — although the faux fur throw has already been claimed, as you can probably see (scroll to the end) 😂🐈

Morning 🤍🤍 it’s chilly here today and we’ve had some welcome rain 🙌
We sleep downstairs in summer as this room gets too hot but when the tide turns 🍂 we’ll be moving back upstairs. This gorgeous throw from @orkishome fits our superking size bed beautifully and is the perfect ‘in between’ summer and cooler months throw as you can sleep under it as a single layer or pop it over your duvet for extra coziness. It’s really soft and light and the oatmeal colour goes beautifully with anything and matches the cushions from the same range perfectly 🤍

We are so happy to see our artisan stoneware featured by @thelittle_station_cottage — Debs has styled the Autumn collection so beautifully. We kept this arrangement simple, letting each stem do just enough. The hydrangeas give it a gentle lift, while the softer foliage adds height and movement to create a natural feel.

It’s easy to recreate, here’s how we styled it:

• Choosing the stems — we kept it beautifully simple with two types of stem, soft ‘turning’ hydrangeas stems and green phytolacca foliage sprays.

• Playing with height — the length of the stems and size of the vase shaped how much height we built into the arrangement.

• Letting the vase lead — its proportions and where we wanted to put it guided how much width and openness we needed in the arrangement

• Beginning with foliage —we let the foliage set the tone, giving it a gentle, natural spread wider than the vase, bending the stems where needed.

• Building gentle height — adding two more foliage stems behind lifted the arrangement, keeping everything balanced.

• Finishing the shape — the final two foliage stems were added at the back to create the overall height, leaving space at the front for the hydrangeas.

• Placing the hydrangeas — we tucked two at the front for fullness, keeping one slightly higher for a gentle, natural look.

• Adding the middle layer — the other two hydrangeas we placed in the centre so they sit higher, keeping a natural balance of the flower heads.

• Framing the front — pulling a little foliage forward we framed the hydrangeas and softened the front.

• Top tip — because these are faux stems, we scrunched a little newspaper inside the vase to lift the stems and create extra height where needed. If you’re using fresh flowers you’ll need oasis or wire mesh.

We like to keep things beautifully simple — a tall vase and a few eucalyptus sprays, loosely placed so they fall where they want to. Easy to recreate, effortlessly natural.

We’ve used three types of burgundy eucalyptus. Leafy Willow is the tallest so we’ve used that at the back and sides to create height, filled with the rich dark Seeded burgundy eucalyptus, then dotted the pale burgundy Gumdrop sprays to add interest.

Morning everyone and Happy Saturday!! Our new Autumn Collection is now live — final tweaks finished and the season feels like it’s officially here.

Autumn is coming ……🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁

Can you feel a change in the air ? ….. Autumn is just around the corner and I like to change the look and feel of rooms just by swapping cushions and throws around from room to room.

I find it easier to stick to a neutral colour palette on the walls then add my favourite taupes, browns, greens and apricots in accessories so everything is interchangeable all year round then just add a few select pieces to make the room feel fresh. My beautiful faux fur throw from @orkishome is so soft and warm and is perfect for getting cosy on the sofa or as a throw on the bed and comes in three colour ways so suits all colour schemes 🤎
