Before you show an installation to 50,000 people, you have to build it… twice.

This was the official trial build day for Mirror Mirror.

We laid out the full installation, tested how all of the light boxes sit together and finalised the design of the internal scaffolding that will safely support the work. A huge thank you to @superiorscaffoldingservicesltd for all their work engineering this with us.

We were also able to photograph and scan the light boxes ready for the augmented reality element of the installation, bringing the physical and digital layers of Mirror Mirror together.

It was incredibly satisfying to finally experience the work at scale and know that the engineering is signed off, ready to be rebuilt at Priory Meadow in September.

And honestly, it already looks beautiful. The next phase is where the heart of the work comes in, adding the conceptual messages, refining the red and white lighting, and building the emotional landscape that will ultimately bring Mirror Mirror to life.

So excited to see all of these layers come together when the installation meets its final space.

NEW INSTALLATION ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 🤩☺️

I’m incredibly excited to announce my new installation, Mirror Mirror, which will be unveiled as part of Coastal Currents Festival 2026.

This mixed reality light installation explores the internal dialogue surrounding body image, self-worth and the pressures we place on ourselves and one another. Through the opposing voices of the Orns and Nors (the positive and negative thought patterns that inhabit my world) Mirror Mirror invites us to consider the stories we repeat internally, and how those stories shape the way we see ourselves externally.

For me, this is an important step towards a much bigger vision: creating an XR sculpture garden where physical and digital worlds merge through immersive public artworks.

I’m especially excited that this work will live in a public setting, giving people who may never have stepped into a contemporary art gallery the chance to encounter mixed reality in their everyday lives. Those unexpected moments of curiosity and reflection are exactly why I make this work!

What an absolutely amazing journey it has been to bring MIRROR MIRROR to the public. 🪞

I’m completely over the moon with the response to the installation. The conversations, messages and feedback have been more than I could ever have imagined when I first started making this work.

I’m so happy to share these beautiful images captured by the @coastalcurrentsfestival digital team, showing people experiencing the AR element of the installation at nighttime.

Thank you to everyone who came, looked, reflected, shared their stories and took something from the work.

MIRROR MIRROR came from a period when vulnerability became one of the most powerful ways I could connect with other people. If this work has helped even one person recognise something of themselves, open up a conversation, or simply feel a little less alone in whatever they’re going through, then it has done what I hoped it could do.

Thank you for experiencing it with me. ❤️

THE FULL BINGE PERFORMANCE IS HERE.

For those of you who missed us live, I’m so excited to share BINGE in full.

Created and performed with @rosie_greenwood , BINGE explores addiction, compulsion and the ways we pacify ourselves, from food, sex and relationships to substances, shopping, screens, work and even our own thoughts.

At its heart is the moment between urge and action: the temptation, the build-up, the automatic behaviour, the “f*ck it” moment and the cycles we find ourselves returning to.

This live performance was our first step towards developing BINGE as an XR experience, where we could immerse audiences even further in the sensory experience of temptation, compulsion and repetition.

For now, turn the sound up, settle in and experience BINGE in full. And I’d love to hear what it brings up for you in the comments.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped us bring this first iteration to life, especially to @coastalcurrentsfestival for making it all possible, continually supporting artists and for capturing the performance so beautifully.

Sometimes the most powerful thing is knowing we’re not alone. 🪞🫀

Thank you so much to everyone who came out for MIRROR MIRROR, shared their vulnerabilities and supported us in bringing this project to life.

A huge thank you to Coastal Currents, Priory Meadow, Eggtooth, Superior Scaffolding and Arts Council England for supporting the project, and to my wonderful team. Projects like this take an enormous amount of time, energy and care behind the scenes, and I simply couldn’t make them happen without the people around me.

MIRROR MIRROR was created to shine a light on experiences that touch all of us in different ways — the challenges of mental and physical health, vulnerability, self-perception and the conflicting voices we carry within ourselves.

None of us escapes difficult periods in our lives. For me, there is something powerful about being vulnerable enough to share those experiences. When we realise that the things we struggle with privately are often shared by others, perhaps we can feel a little less alone.

This work began with some of my own reflections, so seeing so many of you contribute your vulnerabilities over the weekend was incredibly moving. There was such a beautiful feeling of openness and unity at the opening party and throughout the exhibition.

Thank you for looking, sharing, reflecting and being part of it.

Just a teaser from tonight’s launch of @ornaghworld incredible MIRROR MIRROR at @priory_meadow

Thanks to everyone who came as it really was special to be able to put an event on in Priory Meadow again after ten years! Thanks to all the people who work at Priory Meadow, the businesses and the staff and management who have been so cool to work with!

MIRROR MIRROR IS ON THE BBC 📻🪞

I’m heading onto BBC Radio Sussex tomorrow morning to talk all things MIRROR MIRROR ahead of its opening this Friday!

For all you early risers, tune into Danny Pike at 7:20am, where I’ll be talking a little more about the story behind the work, what you can expect from the installation and what it means to finally bring MIRROR MIRROR into the heart of Hastings.

The installation opens Friday 18 September at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, as part of the @coastalcurrentsfestival curated programme, where I’m so excited to be taking part as one of this year’s headline artists.

MIRROR MIRROR OPENS THIS FRIDAY. 🪞❤️

After months of developing, testing, breaking, rebuilding and bringing this installation to life, I’m so excited to finally share MIRROR MIRROR with you at @priory_meadow as part of @coastalcurrentsfestival .

Built from illuminated makeup mirrors, MIRROR MIRROR explores the internal voices that shape how we see ourselves — moving between self-criticism, obsession, vulnerability, reassurance and hope.

I’m inviting you to add your own voice.

Alongside the installation, @eggtoothproject will be inviting visitors to anonymously share a vulnerable thought, feeling or moment. These contributions will go on to form a new collective artwork, allowing the conversation to continue beyond the exhibition.

FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER

✂️ 11am — Official Ribbon Cutting
Come down and be one of the first to experience the installation.

🥂 7pm — Opening Party
Join us for the official opening celebration, music, drinks and MIRROR MIRROR after hours.
