POSTS STORIES REELS

So… who are we? We’re Orphia — an alt-pop duo making music about myth, memory, and everything that still echoes. Two people turning stories into sound.

Most musicians are waiting for confidence.

Confidence to release. Confidence to perform. Confidence to post.

The problem?

Confidence usually shows up after you’ve done the thing.

Not before.

Nobody feels ready.

They become ready.

When a chorus doesn’t hit, our first instinct is usually to rewrite it.

But often the real issue is contrast.

A chorus feels powerful because of what comes before it.

If your verses are already giving 100%, your chorus has nowhere to grow.

Sometimes the fix isn’t making the chorus bigger.
It’s making the verse smaller.

Save this for your next songwriting session.

Some of the strongest lyrics ever written don’t explain themselves.

They leave space.

They trust the listener.

The moment you explain every detail, you remove the mystery that makes people come back.

Give listeners clues.

Let them connect the dots.

one of those songs that speaks for itself.

Your next song might be hiding in three simple chords. 🎸

Pick any three chords, loop them, and spend two minutes finding a melody. No lyrics, no overthinking, no pressure to write something brilliant.

Sometimes the best ideas come when you stop trying to force them.

Your turn: What three chords would you choose? Drop them in the comments, and give the exercise a try.

I used Em, A7, D7.

Some connections feel inevitable, even when you know how the story ends. 🖤

Most bridges don’t fail because they’re badly written.
They fail because they don’t add anything new.

Before you write your next bridge, ask:
What would the listener lose if I removed it?

If the answer is “not much”, that’s where I’d start.

Save this for your next songwriting session..

You don’t need expensive studio monitors to get a good mix. You need to know how to use the ones you have. 🎧

Blackbird 🖤 One of those songs that never gets old.

One of the biggest mistakes lyric writers make is explaining the emotion instead of showing it.

People don’t connect with “I’m sad.”
They connect with the specific details that make someone sad.

The more specific the image, the more universal the feeling.

What’s a lyric you’ve heard that painted a great picture?
