Building American energy, powering the road ahead. #EnergyThatWorks
POSTS STORIES REELS
One year of South Fork Wind.     In its first year of operations, South Fork Wind has been providing energy that Long Island can depend on. Through heat waves and growing energy demand, this project is generating electricity 92% of the time for over 70,000 homes.     Thousands of American workers supported the construction of South Fork Wind and more American workers service it today —increasing investments in our domestic supply chain, manufacturing, and shipbuilding. Pairing reliable, affordable power with local partnerships: that’s #EnergyThatWorks for New York. Read more about South Fork Wind’s incredible first year performance at the link in our bio. by @orstedus
Our wind energy projects bring clean energy and tax revenue to places like Lynn County, Texas, where the community is seeing and experiencing the benefits of our partnership. Take it from Lynn County Judge Mike Braddock; he's a lifelong resident, a rancher, and landowner who has dedicated his life to making sure the land and the people who live on it are reflected in partnerships like ours—and that together, we ensure the community thrives. by @orstedus
Building energy that works for America 🇺🇸 Our 2025 American Action Report highlights how our multi-technology portfolio is helping to meet America’s growing electricity demand by:   • Boosting local economies  • Creating jobs, right here in America  • Partnering with local leaders  Read more about how we’re investing in communities, building a 21st century workforce, and powering American communities and businesses at the link in our bio. by @orstedus
Youth Fair, brought to you by Old 300 Solar and Storage 🐮☀️ Dustin Smith and Brian Meuth sit on the board of the Needville Youth Fair, where generations of community members have been involved with the livestock and creative art auctions that fund scholarships for local kids. What started as a program funded by small, local donations, has since turned into a larger operation that supports the growing community. Our donation enabled the Youth Fair to make some much-needed upgrades to their facilities that will last for generations to come. Dustin and Brian know firsthand what participation in the Youth Fair instills in young people: strong values and a sense of responsibility. They both participated as kids and now their kids are keeping the tradition alive. Dustin and Brian said it best, “That is just how this community works.” by @orstedus
New Mexico, meet Blackwater Solar ☀️⚡ We're excited to announce we've started construction on our first project in New Mexico—a 200 MW solar site in Roosevelt County that will generate enough energy to power 56,000 homes annually. As part of our commitment to support local conservation efforts, we made a $100,000 contribution to Playa Lakes Joint Venture to restore wetlands near the project site. We're looking forward to being long-term partners to Roosevelt County; continuing to expand America's energy infrastructure while bringing lasting local benefits. by @orstedus
Safe schools are the foundation of a strong community, and no one knows that better than Craigan Colunga, the Chief of Police for the Needville ISD, near our Old 300 Solar and Storage project. Born and raised in the area, it was a full circle moment for Craigan to come back and serve as Chief for ISD Police Department which is fully funded and operated within the school district. Because of the rural terrain, responding to calls effectively can be a real challenge. Orsted’s construction team saw an opportunity to help. End result: a new Polaris Ranger for the Department. Whether it’s a packed stadium during Friday night lights or a buzzing weekend at the local Youth Fair, thanks to this new vehicle, Craigan and his team are ready for anything. As the Needville area continues to grow, our partnerships do too. The money we donate and generate from tax revenue flows into the community, directly helping keep students and community members safe. Our responsibility goes beyond providing power to the grid and as Craigan said, “It means everything to have a partner who understands that.” “When a company like Orsted invests in a district like ours, it says something about who they are.” For the Needville ISD, being ready for the consistent growth the community is experiencing requires all hands on deck. Creating new neighborhoods and building schools all takes energy-and investment. With Old 300 Solar and Storage nearby, Dr. Paul Drake, Superintendent of the Needville ISD, sees firsthand the tangible benefits of a partnership. The tax revenue we generate goes toward pay raises for district teachers and staff. We’re able to provide power for the schools during brownouts so students’ daily learning isn’t interrupted. We’re committed to stability for the grid and for the community, just like a good neighbor should be. by @orstedus
Pasture management 🤝 solar site management Quentin, Jason, and Jamie are farmers and ranchers born and raised in Texas who combined their expertise to form P&F Services, a vegetation management company that keeps our Old 300 Solar and Storage site looking good. ☀️🌾 Using the same chemistry and methods as they use for pasture land management, the team at P&F maintains the land on site at our project and others in the area. What started as a business partnership has now grown into a deeper connection between us, P&F, and the surrounding community-we volunteer together and lend support to causes in the area. Together we’re able to “find the good” as P&F put it, in everything we do. by @orstedus
This Labor Day, we’re proud to celebrate the American union workers who are building our U.S. offshore wind energy projects. Revolution Wind, Sunrise Wind, and South Fork Wind have generated 5 million union labor hours and counting, while creating more than 2,400 direct jobs for American union workers. Bringing their dedication and specialized skills to the job every day, these union workers are building American energy infrastructure and helping bring reliable, affordable, much-needed power to their communities. by @orstedus
“Orsted was different from the start.” When we built Old 300 Solar, Dwayne Anderson—known to everyone in the community as Sparky—was with us every step of the way. As the Captain of the all-volunteer Needville Fire Department, Sparky knows just how paramount safety protocols are. We hosted training courses for Sparky’s crew and surrounding departments, running practical drills and tests, and even donated money for his crew to buy a drone to help with fire emergencies of all kinds. Our Old 300 Solar and Storage project is providing much needed power to an area in need of grid stability—and we’re making sure we’re doing it safely, thanks to partnerships with people like Sparky. That’s what being a good neighbor to the Needville community is all about. by @orstedus
Old 300 Storage is now powered up in Texas 🔋 Old 300 Storage, a battery energy storage system (BESS), is now providing power to the ERCOT grid. Using @teslaenergy batteries, this project brings 250 MW/500 MWh BESS capacity—adding to the nearly 5 GW BESS already delivers during ERCOT peak hours—and is joining the 430 MW solar facility already on site. Now officially a part of our 6 GW of land-based domestic energy generation in the U.S., Old 300 Storage is helping America reach its energy ambition and infusing over $40M into the local tax base over the project’s lifetime. Supporting domestic manufacturing, strengthening grid stability, and providing local, diverse energy options, we’re proud to bring more energy that works for Texas. by @orstedus
We've noticed an overlooked ecoregion: The Rolling Plains! And North Central Texans would like a word!🤨 This beautiful landscape teeming with wildlife supports local economies, recreation, and research!🔬 📉But after decades of declining bobwhite quail numbers, the main attraction for hunters, it became clear that the Rolling Plains habitat was deeply threatened… 🧪 A historic low in 2010 sparked research efforts that identified stressors on the population, like parasitic eye-worms. But the most systemic threat, affecting all wildlife across the Rolling Plains, remained: habitat degradation, loss, and fragmentation. But that’s not the end of it! These discoveries led to an impressive partnership!🤝 Ørsted Americas Onshore, a leading, renewable energy company with solar farms in the Rolling Plains, has a long-standing commitment to biodiversity and was looking for a local conservation opportunity to benefit from that.🐦 🤠With the help of Texan by Nature, Ørsted was connected to the Teacup Mountain Wildlife Management Area Restoration Project! Aiming to restore degraded habitat and food plots for wildlife, this project brings together Ørsted funding support with on-the-ground management by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Through federal Pittman-Robertson funds, Ørsted’s donations to the project are matched 3:1, with the funds going to: 🌱removing invasive vegetation 🌾reseeding native grasses 💧and installing new solar water wells for local wildlife To date, the TPWD has already deployed aerial mesquite spray to begin removing invasive species! Through this project, Ørsted Americas Onshore is demonstrating how businesses can collaborate alongside local conservation organizations to restore and protect ecosystems for generations to come!🙌 by @orstedus
We’re proud to be investing in American communities and delivering secure, reliable, homegrown energy. 🇺🇸 by @orstedus
