Today marks a new beginning and an exciting adventure! Thank you to all the visitors who came through—it means the world to me.

A special thank you to the 88 Team 💪🏾, my family and friends who gave their personal time to help prepare this space, and my amazing girlfriend, who selflessly supported me for this opportunity.

Every single person who walks through these doors inspires me to be better every day. This is just the start, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead. Let’s keep growing together,
🎉Classes have officially started,

A big weekend for the 88 crew at the Oshawa Open! 🏆

Athan, Ethan, Kara, Austin, and Alcina stepped up to compete.

For some, it was their first competition. For others, it was another opportunity to test themselves and put their training to work. Not everyone got the result they were hoping for, but everyone enjoyed themselves and walked away with something to learn and bring back to the mats🥋

Proud of this crew for showing up, giving it their all, and representing the team so well. On to the next 🤙🏼 by @orsy.12y

🚨 𝗞𝗻𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗻 (𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁)! 🚨

This is what an MCL knee rehab session looks like at Lu Strength & Therapy.

Each session begins with a personalized assessment to understand what’s actually going on — how the knee is moving and what structures may be contributing to the symptoms.

From there, manual therapy is used to help restore movement, reduce stiffness, and improve overall knee function.

This is followed by corrective exercises designed to rebuild strength and stability so the knee can gradually tolerate load again.

The goal isn’t just pain relief — it’s restoring full function and reducing the risk of re-injury. 💪

🤎 Brown Belt. Grateful. 🙏

Never thought a piece of fabric could mean so much.

Today isn’t a celebration of talent.

It’s a celebration of time.

Time spent getting submitted.
Time spent failing.
Time spent showing up when I was tired.
Time spent learning from people far better than me.

Jiu-Jitsu has been one of the greatest teachers of my life.

It taught me that ego breaks.
Humility learns.
And consistency compounds.

Thank you to every coach, training partner, teammate, and friend who has shared the mats with me.

Thank you to the black belts who smashed me.
The brown belts who guided me.
The purples, blues, and whites who trusted me with their growth.

A special thank you to @ericphanbjj @lustrengthbjj @eighteightbjj and everyone who has been part of this journey. Your time, knowledge, patience, and belief in me have helped shape who I am both on and off the mats.

This belt represents much more than technique.

It represents resilience.
Discipline.
Accountability.
Growth.

Most importantly, it reminds me that I still have so much to learn.

🥇Congratulations to everyone who stepped onto the mats last night.
The 8 weeks of hard work and dedication in the training room were on full display, and the results speak for themselves.

17 competitors (most for the first/second time), we brought home an impressive haul:
• 4 Golds🥇
• 4 Silvers🥈
• 8 Bronzes🥉

Because of the combined efforts, we placed 💥3rd in the Adult Team division. Earning our very first team plaque! We also finished 6th overall out of 60+ teams/affiliations.
This is truly a team sport, all the accomplishments have a little piece of everyone who we train with everyday.

🙏🏾Thank you to all the coaches sharing knowledge with us, everyone who showed up to cheer and support, and every teammate in the academy. Finally, thank you @durhamclassicbjj for hosting such a great event. by @orsy.12y

As a slow learner, I always work on 1-2 specific things at a time. Currently, I am working on adding the false reap from RDLR into 50/50 as well as the kneebar. This is how I’ve added tools into my game since white belt. 1-2 things for a period of 4-8 weeks.

Thanks @orsy.12y @eighteightbjj for the great rounds.

The 88 Competition Team Has Officially Made Weight! 💪🏽🥋
After an intense 6-week training camp, this group has shown nothing but grit, discipline, and dedication. While competition is never mandatory—and not required to get better—anyone who’s rolled with this crew knows how hard they’ve worked to level up.
For an academy that’s only 8 months old, we’re incredibly proud of what this team has built together. And this is just the beginning—we can’t wait to see how it grows over the next 1, 5 and 10years by @orsy.12y
