Tonight, I’m sharing a tiny pastel on a 5x7 ampersand board.
A delicate fruit bat.
These small creatures are messengers of rebirth and intuition.
In so many cultures, the bat is a symbol of transition of trusting the darkness and finding the light within.
I hope this little bat reminds you to lean into change and trust your inner wings. #SpiritualArt #BatMagic #Rebirth #orzlowskifineart #flyingfox @ampersand_art by @orzlowski

World Raven & Crow Day🐦‍⬛There’s something about the raven that has always called to me.

Living on the outskirts of Melbourne, they visit my studio often.

Not just passing through but arriving with a presence that feels intentional… almost like they’re watching, waiting, knowing.

When I paint them in acrylics and or pastels, I get completely lost in the process.

What looks like pure black begins to shift under the light… blues, violets, greens, silvers… colours that reveal themselves slowly, like a secret.

Ravens and crows are incredibly intelligent. They recognise faces, solve problems, even use tools. But beyond that, they carry something deeper… something ancient.

For me, they are messengers.

In my work, they move between realms and reality, bringing through quiet whispers, guiding us to pay attention to what we feel, not just what we see.

On International Crow and Raven Day, April 27th, I honour these beautiful, mysterious beings who continue to inspire every brushstroke.

And perhaps… they are here to remind you of something too. #raven #ravenandcrow #black #aprilcelebrations #orzlowskifineart by @orzlowski
