President Joe Biden surprised us on the field at Fort Adams State Park for today’s Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance, presented by A. Lange & Söhne, and his 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible took home the Spirit of Audrain Award 🏆

The Corvette was a wedding gift from his father, and nearly six decades and more than 200,000 miles later, it is still telling that story.

We were proud to present President Biden with a quilted ACMW jacket, embroidered with his name by Warwick’s own Myron Wood, along with an Audrain Automobile Museum Lifetime Membership as member #46 🏎️

It was an honor to welcome him to Newport. Thank you, President Biden, for sharing your Corvette and its story with us. It’s clear you’re a true car enthusiast at heart, and we’re thrilled to count you among the Audrain family.

At the Historic Festival, Lime Rock Park! For the first time since 2008- and I’m glad to be back. First up, the Parade, through the spectacular roads of western Connecticut, and in a truly historic car- the 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta which Jake Kaplan drove to 20th overall and a class win at the 1957 Sebring race- and owned now by his daughter, my friend Sheree Kaplan. Following FIVA President @alberto_scuro’s participation as a panel member at the Pebble Beach Classic Car Forum on the 13th of August, FIVA was again strongly represented in a second discussion held on the 14th of August, titled “FIVA & the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance - Celebrating Living History in Automobiles”.

The fact that this forum took place concomitant with the 75th gathering of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and the 60th Anniversary of FIVA was truly unique as the panel explored the impact of how the alignment between FIVA and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has led to a literal sea change approach to the collection of vehicles around the world and their implications for the future of the historic vehicle world.

Moderated by @osbornedonald, FIVA Representative for North America, the discussion was made all the more distinctive by the unique composition of the panel as highlighted by the presence of Adolfo Orsi, who has served as the Chief Judge of the FIVA Awards at the Pebble Beach Concours since their inception in 1999; Jay Leno, internationally acclaimed television host, author, philanthropist and renown collector who is also an inductee into the FIVA Heritage Hall of Fame; Paul Russel, famed automotive restorer and Concours judge and rounded out by master restorer and renown television personality @waynecariniofficial who also frequently serves as either a judge or Grand Marshal at leading automotive events across the world.

The success of this forum can be best summed up referring to its very premise, namely: “The most long-established organization for the protection, preservation, and promotion of the historic vehicles, the Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens (FIVA), came together with the world’s pre-eminent concours event, the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance, in 1999 to celebrate originality and preservation in historic vehicles outside of museums. This partnership has served to educate collectors, restorers, enthusiasts, and the public about the importance of caring for and sharing historic vehicles as a part of cultural heritage”.

The discussion explored collecting, restoration, discovery, preservation, and the stories behind the automobiles that continue to shape our automotive culture.

We were especially honored to see the ACE Forum recognized by 𝗙𝗜𝗩𝗔 as part of its Monterey Car Week coverage — a fitting connection through Donald Osborne’s role representing FIVA in North America.
