I lost track of posting there for a minute! I didn’t spin for days, then when I got my mojo back I was out of the habit. But this is day… 14? I think. Let’s go with that. Out of… drumroll please… 27. It really helped to make the rest of the wool into nests, and also to realize I could do two bumps a day without too much effort. Which makes me past the halfway point! I knew I’d hit my stride. #spin15aday by @osbornfiber

After streaming @the.woolcircle this afternoon, I finally sat down and chunked the rest of my blue Swiss wool. I ended up with 33 pieces left. I think I’ve got 10 pieces on my current bobbin, so I’ll plan for 11 pieces on three more bobbins. It really does help on a long, samey project to know how long it will take. Also, I think I’ll take a break after the next bobbin - either to spin the white that will go alongside this, or to spin something quick and completely different! #spin15aday #thewoolcircle by @osbornfiber

These kids! They were SO eager to help cook today, they did nearly all the work. Martha made the sweet potatoes in the morning to slow cook all day, Naomi prepped the turkey, Diana assembled the green bean casserole, and they worked together to prep everything for the stuffing (using my late grandma’s recipe, of course). I’m so thankful they took a day that could have been stressful and made it enjoyable. Jared ran around cleaning and invisibly making things run smoothly (and answering ambulance calls), and I got to be boss mom and teach them all the things. Two families joined us for supper and we had a sweet evening together. I’m so wildly thankful for this family, for all the many members of our found family and community here in Rankin, and for the privilege of being Canadian. #canadianthanksgiving by @osbornfiber

Day 10/who knows. I spun for a whole hour today, while recording the next episode of Wool n’ Spinning radio - it’s a good one! It sure feels good to see that bobbin getting filled up. #spin15aday by @osbornfiber

Buyer beware: this kit is a scam. The pattern was written by AI that has never read a crochet pattern; it just has nothing to do with reality. The sheep pictured is from an old Leisure Arts paid pattern, but even if you buy it there’s nowhere near enough yarn enclosed to make it. This is AI and plagiarism. My daughter sweetly bought this for me as a gift while on a trip; I will find a way to make something else with it. #leisurearts @leisureartsinc #castlecraft #crochet #scam by @osbornfiber

You may be relieved to hear that I made a sensible decision yesterday (day 5) and started a new bobbin, this time in the Z direction. Hopefully this will be enough to make me double check every time I start! I’ll find a use for those S singles, but that’s a future problem. Now I’ll just work on spinning these singles for the next million days. #spin15aday #electriceelwheel #eew6 by @osbornfiber

Welp, it wasn’t until now, on day 4/a lot, that I realized I was spinning my singles the wrong direction. I like to spin my singles Z and ply them S, because then as I knit I’m adding a bit of twist instead of removing it. Blah. Now, do I spin the whole massive project like this and compensate with extra ply twist? Or do I cut my losses on this first bobbin - can always make a crepe yarn with it - and spin the next bobbin Z? #oops #spin15aday #notthefirsttime by @osbornfiber

The first month of lunches is complete! Martha and I made a meal plan from one of #thefamilyfudge’s videos, this one inspired by the new Mario Galaxy movie. TBH I didn’t love the movie but we’re pretty pro-Mario in this house. Here are pics from each day of the week on (ahem) better days.
Monday: Mario. KD W/ ketchup and cheese, carrot and grape “coins”, bowser/koopa cupcake
Tuesday: Peach. PB&J w/ apricot jam, frozen peaches, carrot and cucumber tulips, peach macarons (these turned out awful and were subbed for other snacks the rest of the month lol)
Wednesday: Toad. Chicken Ceasar salad w/ yellow pepper stars and mushroom radish, grape and strawberry pirhana plants, gushers, carrots.
Thursday: Luigi. Pizza quesadillas, frozen mango, checkerboard cucumbers, baby tomatoes (swapped these out later because they’re so expensive here), mystery block Rice Krispie treats.
Friday: Rosalina. Star cheese and crackers, star carrots, orange “moons”, more grapes.
Yeah this takes a lot of time. Yes I need to dial it back because who has time for this. But silly or not, it’s fun and lets me kids feel loved for that half an hour I get to see them in the middle of the day. And gold star for Jared for keeping this up while I was away!!! by @osbornfiber

Day 3/kajillion of spinning duck blue Swiss wool. It’s raining and windy and I’m half sick and still recovering, so we’re staying home from service together and worshipping other ways, and attempting to be kind to one another. Even sped up like crazy, you can see this spin will take a while, but using an Espinner makes it a restful project. #spin15aday #eew6 #handspinningyarn #swisswool #electricewheel by @osbornfiber
