Away from projects, I’ve been revisiting old work and transforming them into motion pieces. Been great learning After Effects. Excited to share more soon.

[CONCEPT]

Collaboration is a key part of Living Blue’s identity to ensure their craftsmanship is honoured correctly. Exploring how the brand could expand through collaboration, I developed a conceptual partnership with Scandinavian label Colorful Standard for their AW25 collection. The collaboration aims to bring together traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.

The design stays true to Colorful Standard’s clean and modern aesthetic with the layered indigo marks aiming to bring in a sense of human touch and imperfection associated with dyeing within natural indigo. by @oscargraphicsarchive

[CONCEPT]

Selection of stamps and the LB handbook used within the Living Blue side of the identity.

The Living Blue handbook offers international buyers an in-depth look into the complex process of natural indigo production and the skilled craftsmanship behind it. It allows a global audiance to connect with the craftsmen and farmers, without needing to be physically present in the rural area of Rangpur, Bangladesh.

Given the area’s frequent power cuts and limited infrastructure, I developed a low-energy visual identity that celebrates handcraft. The design uses hand-stamped graphics and indigo-based inks across much of the outcomes. These stamped elements take inspiration from South Asia’s rich heritage of block printing, celebrating texture, repetition and imperfection. by @oscargraphicsarchive

[CONCEPT]

Final university Brief. A follow up project to my dissertation where I explored the decline and resurgence of natural indigo dyeing within South Asia.

Here are a selection of outcomes I created for a short concept identity for Living Blue - a social enterprise based in a rural village outside Rangpur, northern Bangladesh. Living Blue produces and dyes with natural indigo using traditional, artisan-led methods.

Living Blue has two sides to their brand. One focuses on selling and producing their own natural indigo, the other focuses on working in collaboration with global fashion houses to dye and stitch with their indigo. by @oscargraphicsarchive

[Self initiated brief]

Project 4 at uni. Printed quite a few so if you would like one they’re £4 (only covering riso and paper costs).

My first project of the year, responding to the brief: ‘The Magnificence of the Mundane.’

“Ephemeral” is a short publication that explores the beauty found in the constant evolution of the natural world. The project took inspiration from the Japanese concepts of mono no aware and wabi-sabi - both of which celebrate the subtle beauty of decay, the passage of time and the temporary nature inherent in all things.

Focusing on cracks, the project is captured through scanning and photography alongside a series of my own thoughts. I focus on the subtle, often over-looked details of decaying surfaces, displaying the beauty in what is broken, aged, and always changing. Each page and image reflect changing environments over time, showing how things transform and gain meaning with age, never reaching a state of perfection at any single point.

Designed as a living object, the book evolves with time and lived experience. Its scratchable covers visualise this continuous transformation, while the untrimmed wire binding gives it an organic, shifting form that adapts to each reader’s unique interaction. by @oscargraphicsarchive

Hand stamped cards for shows. Great evening at @thersaorg showcasing my portfolio last night and meeting industry designers. Great conversations and great advice re routes into industry.

Cards took inspiration from the lettering pressed onto Paris streets (posted previously). Cut, stamped, glazed and fired in the ceramic studio then scanned..

Looking forward to sharing this years projects in the coming days/weeks on here. by @oscargraphicsarchive
