Every time my mom asks what I do for a living, I freeze.

This little spinny thing might explain it better than I ever could.

Ever used a Rolodex?

It’s kinda the perfect metaphor for my work.

I help people remember people using digital tools.
🤓

Got a better way I can explain this to my mom next time she asks?

Winner gets a semi-used Rolodex!

Parents, would you rather pay $18,000/year for daycare, or $10,000 once for a robot that…

— Teaches your kid
— Cooks your meals
— Cleans your house
— Walks your dog
— and pays your bills?

That’s the kind of question AI is creeping toward.

And I don't know if I'm ready for it. 🫠

If you're reading or watching this post, thank you, but also know that this is a post from my LinkedIn page where I talk mostly about Marketing, CRMs, and other tech stuff.

Professionally, I love helping SMBs and Nonprofits power up their business as their technology and marketing partner without the tech-bro feeling. My goal is to get them in a better spot through helping them make sense of all of their marketing and tech tools.

This page is mostly dedicated to non-work stuff, but every now and then, I like to share some stuff with those of you who might know how I make money.

Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn🙃

Everyone's plugging AI into their CRM. Almost nobody's checking what it's plugging into or where to start.

We used to do this by hand, with a spreadsheet and a long afternoon. Now RootCheck reads your whole HubSpot in about a minute. Read-only. It finds the deals nobody owns and the money nobody's watching.

Every Monday, it checks again and sends you one thing to fix.

HubSpot's Unbound conference starts this week. Before any of their new features land in your portal, see what's actually true about your CRM right now with our RootCheck diagnostic.

Free score, no card needed. This week only, unlock the full report (every fix ranked, dollar cost included) for $79 instead of $129 with code UNBOUND.

AI can recite every depth chart in the NFL. It has no idea your league exists.

Not your scoring. Not your rosters. Not why Derrick Henry is worth more in your rules than ESPN thinks.

The fix takes ten minutes and it's in the video. Give your league a home. Set the response rules. Build the brain before you build anything fancy.

Fantasy football is just the sandbox. The same setup works for anything you already do every week.

In 2002, two college students started a class project because they didn't see themselves in media and tech. Today, that project, @latinitas, is teaching girls coding, robotics, and digital media across Texas, and this year it's coming to @del_valle_isd.

That's why I said yes to co-chairing this year's Somos Latinitas event.

We're throwing a party about it. Live music, food, drinks, and some badass people.

A few clients have asked us to help them set up a morning brief that goes straight to their phone like a text message.

Said differently...

"Can you help us make a to-do list based on our calendar, emails, projects, CRM, etc...?"

Here's a really simple way you can set it up in Claude and test for yourself.

Happy to help anyone who has questions

It's strange how sometimes we might be meeting a version of each other that even our closest friends and family rarely get to see.

Last night, we sat with thirty strangers, one long table, three hours of Florentine meat and endless wine. We spoke Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, and English and nobody fully understood each other but somehow we did.

It might be me, but these blind date type of dinners with people you might never see again hits differently. When you travel, there's this quiet agreement that a love for life brought us together, so let's indulge.

Luckily, we are now friends with a few of them from Brazil (@marcoshaluch and @blogviajandoporconta ) "tchim-tchim"🍷

Officina della Bistecca in Panzano has been on @janierr and I's bucket list ever since we binge watched Chef's Table during the pandemic. Last night, as part of Janie's 40th, we finally went.

Top three meals of my life.🙏

I may never sit at a table like this again, but I'm grateful I got to once. taken in Officina Della Bistecca, Panzano in Chianti Firenze by @oscarsoscars

You know that feeling when you win the jackpot? I do.

Happy 40th to the woman who makes everything better.

I teared up way too many times yesterday 😭

The @dvisdeducationfoundation , teamed up with @del_valle_isd , @delvalleisdsupt, and the Board of Trustees to do something very simple but powerful. We hopped on a bus and drove across the entire district, campus by campus, just to say thank you.

Watching someone get recognized in front of their colleagues, seeing family members show up as a surprise, it gets you. The people who take care of our campuses, our kids, and our community do it quietly and consistently, and moments like yesterday are a reminder that they deserve to be seen and celebrated.

I'm a product of public schools and of South Austin. Any chance I get to show some love to the people holding it down in Del Valle, I'm taking it.

Invest in the people who invest in our kids and our community ❤️❤️

And we're just getting started. Here are a couple more ways to get involved before the semester wraps up if you're interested:

Our 4th Annual TopGolf Tournament is April 8th from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. Come hang, meet great people, and support something that actually matters. Business leaders, community members, and good people all around.

Then on May 15th, we're hosting our Teacher and Staff of the Year banquet, where we honor the very best of Del Valle. Sponsorship opportunities are still available if you or your business want to be part of that night.

Come celebrate with us! My comments and DMs are open!
