Retro fashion meets eco-values at One Size Fits All Vintage in El Paso

Earth Day is all about raising awareness about environmental issues and inspiring action.

Each year, people around the world use the global movement to share ideas and teach people how to make choices that help protect the planet. One powerful and stylish way to make a difference every day is through thrifting.

In El Paso, One Size Fits All Vintage helps educate customers on how thrifting can reduce waste and make sustainable fashion more accessible.

Co-owners Mario Favela, Christian Euzarraga and Derek Kettle were brought together through mutual friends in the local vintage scene. Favela runs the store’s social media, Euzarraga handles finances and creative direction, and Kettle organizes the vintage market and leads community outreach.

“A big part of why we do this is mainly how you can reuse most of the shirts that you’ve had,” said Favela, “when you were younger, in the 90s and 80s, there’s a reason why these shirts are still in great condition versus when you go to the mall, when you go to places where they just mass produce one shirt after three washes, it doesn’t feel the same. The fit doesn’t isn’t the way that you bought it. The threads are loose. You know, the collar is all messed up. The fabric, like the actual graphic, starts to kind of fade away.”

Every third Saturday of the month, the store hosts its vintage market at RAD Retrocade East, an arcade bar at 9910 Montana Ave., featuring 15 to 20 different vendors. Each market showcases new vendors, ensuring customers always find fresh items.
