Music Theory Nerds Unite. A few - that’s more than one and less than four - friends brought up the Csus10 voicing from another video. So here I talk about sus chords for a bit.

Don’t really know if my technical explanation is correct regarding the non existence of a sus2, but it makes sense to me now.

A great example of a sus7(b9) voicing can be heard in the song ‘sail away’ originally by Tom Harrell - I heard it back in school on a Kenny Barron recording. Such a cool voicing that I still remember that 😂.

I don’t talk theory much here, but have oft thought of and chickened out of various theory rants. Does this resonate with musicians and non musicians alike? I can certainly go under the hood a bit more.

Stop. Doing. This. Please no one wants to see AI food. I cannot consume AI food (yet). I’d rather you, business owner, draw the food with your hands. No matter how terrible it may look. What are we doing ???

Here are the chords for the folks who were askin. Not me discussing them yet but feel free to follow along. Im sure there’s even more gold in a melodic analysis as well, and forgive me Brian Wilson for not doing the melody justice. I don’t claim to be a singer! Ha.

*A little disclaimer here - I haven’t done a Roman numeral analysis on something in years, and don’t tend to think of chords in those regards anymore*. What’s everyone’s favorite chord or moment? What did I get wrong? What did I get right? Follow for part two in the FUTURE.
