Juxtaposed – One Take Sessions 🎶

We’re bringing back our “One Take Sessions” and this time, we decided to take on Teen Town by the legendary Weather Report.

A jazz-fusion classic that has inspired generations of musicians, and a piece that gave us a whole new appreciation for the incredible musicianship behind it.

This one’s also a tribute to the incomparable Jaco Pastorius, whose approach to the electric bass changed the instrument forever. He would have turned 75 this year, and his influence continues to be felt across the world of music.

It’s been a while since we’ve shared something with you, and we thought this would be a fitting way to return to our One Take Sessions, where everything is performed live, just as it happens.

Taking on a piece like this was both exciting and humbling, and while there’s always more to learn, we had a great time putting our own spin on something we admire so much.

Here’s our little tribute to the legends who continue to inspire us.

We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed playing it!

Introducing #Kayaka
@osigomango

‘Osi Gomango began his musical journey in Kolkata in the early 1990s, forming his first band Prism and later co-founding the pop-rock outfit Krosswindz, which released a successful EP on BMG Crescendo.

His work across bands such as Barefoot, Shiva, and Plan B shaped his grounding in soul, funk, rock and songwriting, including extensive tours across in India and Australia.

After relocating to Bengaluru in 2014, Osi focused on original music with Riverman and is currently at the forefront of his independent 8-piece band Juxtaposed.

With Kayaka, Osi brings a seasoned musical sensibility and groove driven bass lines that shape the band’s rhythmic core.’ by @osigomango

A LIVE clip of @juxtaposed.official performing ‘Little darling ‘ an original, from a recent gig. This song is a lullaby to a girl child, a fruit of love, and looking at the world through her eyes. Trying to make sense of the world we inhabit, amidst the chaos around us. Happy valentines to one and all. The flip side of HATE is LOVE.#indieband#original #littledarling #juxtaposed #live
