Lockheed Martin unveiled the PAC-3 Edge on October 9, a new Patriot interceptor variant designed to counter advanced missile threats, including hypersonic missiles.

The interceptor features a new seeker, an upgraded flight control system, and a Northrop Grumman-developed multi-pulse rocket motor. These upgrades are intended to extend its engagement range and enable interceptions at higher altitudes.

Developed under the U.S. Army’s Future Interceptor program, the PAC-3 Edge builds on combat-proven technologies from the PAC-3 MSE interceptor while incorporating new solutions to improve interception effectiveness.

According to Lockheed Martin, the PAC-3 Edge’s production cost is expected to remain roughly in line with that of the PAC-3 MSE. The company also aims to increase annual production capacity across the PAC-3 interceptor family to approximately 2,000 missiles.

Testing is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the PAC-3 Edge expected to be ready for deployment by 2031.

The development comes as the U.S. Army seeks to expand its interceptor missile stockpiles and strengthen its defenses against increasingly advanced missile threats. by @osintwarfare

The first F-16 Block 72 fighter for the Royal Moroccan Air Force (RMAF), a two-seat F-16D, has completed its maiden flight at Lockheed Martin’s facility in Greenville, South Carolina.

Morocco is set to receive 25 F-16C/D Block 72 aircraft under a package valued at approximately $3.787 billion.
