We had a few PRs broken tonight on bench and deadlift for Bailey as she gets started prepping for her first meet.
The top singles today were:
Bench 55
Deadlift 95

We're building technique and finding out our baseline strength to move forward the next couple of blocks will be lots of light technique work mixed in with singles and commands.

She's got a great mindset and learns quickly. Bench cues are natural to her, and deadlift will follow.

🚨🚨MEET RECAP🚨🚨
@powerlifting.united 2026 National Championship has come and gone. I am so grateful to be healthy, and able to participate.

First and foremost, HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!

I was blown away by the atmosphere, the production, the athletes, judges, spotters and loaders, venue, everything was absolutely top notch and I've come to expect nothing less from @plunited_tx @deadliftingorangutan @thelife_cleric @tss_spotting_loading all the work done behind the scenes paid off and thank you for everything you all do for the sport.

Now to the numbers. I am happy with my performance, and want to thank my coach @duff.ironborn_strength for getting me through this prep. Conditions were not ideal for me and I know I'm not the easiest person to coach. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

We ended with 6/9 failing all 3 of my 3rd attempts.

217.5/479squat
142.5/314 bench
230/507 deadlift
590/1300 total

Finished 2nd place in my division behind the absolute MONSTER @danimallz_ I hope to see you soon brother.

That 3rd deadlift was so much fun though, and is my absolute favorite lift of all time!

I'm still chasing the 500+ squat and am more motivated than ever to make it so. But for now, it's time to switch focus. We've got so much going on outside of powerlifting, the pressure of prep being lifted is a real relief. I'll be taking a little time to rehab the adductor I fucked on my first set of squat warmups, and plan to hit the primal open back at 110.

Last but certainly not least. I want to thank my family, friends, powerlifting family, and online support system.

My amazing wife, my #1 supporter, my rock, my home @maddienormal you and Bailey are the reason for everything. The reason I am here today at all. I love you so much, thank you for believing in me and everything you do despite it all.

Bert's training is starting to ramp up. We jumped in to the PLU Battle in the Bullpen on June 27th with about 12 weeks to transition and prep.

This is his first of a few heavy triples 660 for an RPE 8.

Christian here is in his off-season. No comp planned currently. We're working together to build a tighter, more powerful squat.

We are pushing his SSB squat, and adding some pauses at the bottom for more time under tension.

SSB, or Safety Squat Bar is an excellent tool to build mid back strength, and quad strength over a typical low bar back squat!

If you don't have access to a SSB, high bar back squat, or front squat are both great alternatives to get a similar stimulus. by @oso.strength.performance
