I’ve been on a wild ride as a creator, director, and all-around business owner — and honestly, I’m super grateful for it.

Going through old content to put this post together brought back so many memories. From the early days of feeling lost after college... to launching my first coffee shop (and learning the hard way that contracts matter)... to filming with legends like The Professor, and eventually working with brands like Adidas, UCLA, Inter Miami, and PGA — it’s been a journey.

I’m beyond thankful to be able to create for a living. But if I’m being real, I miss sharing the small stuff — the little moments, the lessons in real-time, the raw reactions to life as it’s happening.

To really capture the spirit of any sport, you need to dive deep into its culture. It’s not just about the action on the field, court, or track, but about understanding the cultural background, the nuances of the game, and the athletes who bring it to life.

Crazy to think back to meeting Mark Magsayo in California and getting the opportunity to film a small part of his story before he became a World Champion.

Tomorrow he steps into the ring for one of the biggest fights of his career.

Being around boxing and filming fighters gave me a whole different level of respect for what these guys put themselves through.

The discipline, sacrifice, pressure and years of work behind one night in the ring is something most people never see.

I know you’re going to kill it tomorrow, bro. 🥊

There’s no perfect age to become a filmmaker.

At every stage, your advantage changes.
First it’s time. Then it’s reps. Then it’s experience, relationships, discipline, and knowing what’s actually worth your energy.

The goal isn’t to keep up with someone younger or further ahead.

It’s to understand the season you’re in and use it to your advantage.

Creativity doesn’t have an expiration date. Your approach just evolves.

Controversial filmmaker take: relying on autofocus too much can make you a worse shooter. 🎥

Especially in sports.

When everything is moving fast, knowing how to manually control your focus forces you to anticipate the action instead of waiting for the camera to figure it out.

Autofocus is an incredible tool, and there’s absolutely a time for it. But it shouldn’t replace the skill of knowing exactly where you want the viewer’s attention.

Learn to control your focus. Learn to anticipate movement. Become a better filmmaker.

The best sports stories usually happen between the highlights.

The preparation. The pressure. The travel. The setbacks. The conversations nobody hears. The moments before and after the cameras are supposed to be rolling.

As I continue building and shooting sports documentaries, I want to document more of that process here too, what I’m learning, how I approach stories, what works, what doesn’t, and what it actually takes to turn real moments into a film.

Driven by Dreams: Premieres Tomorrow on Tubi 🎬

We’ve been patiently sitting on this project for a long time, waiting for the moment we could finally share it with the world. Some stories deserve the time, sacrifice, and space it takes to tell them right.

Tomorrow, August 14, Driven by Dreams officially premieres on Tubi.

This documentary follows the Colorado MotorSport team through the highs, setbacks, sacrifices, and relentless pursuit of competing on some of the biggest stages in motorsport, from the desert to Dakar.

What started as a camera following a racing team became something much bigger: a story about family, ambition, resilience, and what it really takes to chase a dream.

After years of filming, traveling, racing, and putting this story together, I can’t wait for you all to finally experience it.

The last few weeks have been a wild ride of emotions.

Watching my little girl grow and seeing my wifey give her everything she has has filled my heart in a way I can’t even explain.

I’m also incredibly grateful for the amazing clients who have understood this new chapter of our lives and continued to trust me along the way. From filming at Pikes Peak and soccer leagues, to enjoying FIFA games and finally having Jade meet my parents, these past few weeks have been full of unforgettable moments.

There have definitely been some late nights, long days, and a lot less sleep,but she is completely worth it.

10 habits I do now as a sports storyteller… I wish I started 10 years earlier

1. Shoot with intention (not just for content)
2. Capture audio like it’s more important than video (because it is)
3. Film transitions, not just highlights
4. Ask better questions in interviews (then shut up)
5. Back up footage immediately (no exceptions)
6. Lift or move 3x/week (your body is your tripod)
7. Plan story before shooting anything
8. Build relationships, not just reels
9. Edit weekly (even if it’s rough cuts)
10. Track ONE metric (watch time > views)

If you’re overwhelmed… don’t do all 10.

Pick ONE. Nail it for 7 days. Then add another.

Save this so next time you’re exhausted after a long shoot day… you’ve got a simple plan to level up 🎥🏁

From shooting with some of the biggest brands in the world to working with athletes, sports influencers, and professional leagues, I’ve gained a whole new level of respect for the athlete.

Behind everything you see is one thing: hard work.

Never assume you truly know someone based only on what you see on TV or in the media. There is always more to the person, the sacrifice, and the journey.

Much respect to @nolimitherro as he begins this next chapter with the @bucks A genuinely cool person with a great team around him. Wishing him nothing but success on the journey ahead.
