Hello, November. 🍂 A new month has arrived, but for some of our friends, the wait continues. Another month has passed, and Midnight, Bonnie, Apollo and Bandit are still waking up in a shelter, hoping that today might be the day someone chooses them. ❤️ 🐾 Apollo – 80 days waiting 🐾 Midnight – 74 days waiting 🐾 Bandit – 57 days waiting 🐾 Bonnie – 39 days waiting These four have spent weeks watching other animals come and go, while they continue to wait for their own happily ever after. We know their people are out there. We just need to help them find each other. As we welcome November, let’s make it a month of second chances, new beginnings and forever homes. Could one of these faces be the missing piece in your family? Please share their stories. Sometimes all it takes is one share to change everything. 🏡❤️ #adoptdontshop #adoptme #foreverhomeneeded #ospca #longtermresidents by @ospcayorkregion

🥺🤎 At 10 years old, Mothman never imagined he’d have to start over. For his entire life, Mothman knew the comfort of one home. One family. One place where he belonged. And now, he finds himself in a shelter, surrounded by unfamiliar sights, sounds, and people, trying to make sense of a world he doesn’t understand. 💔 Mothman is timid and shy, and right now, he’s scared. But underneath that uncertainty is the sweetest boy who just needs a little time, a little patience, and someone willing to give him a chance. He doesn’t need a big adventure. He doesn’t need a busy household. He just needs a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe again. A soft place to sleep. A gentle voice to reassure him. Someone who will let him come out of his shell at his own pace and remind him that he’s still so very loved. 🥹🐾 At 10 years old, Mothman deserves to spend his golden years feeling safe, cherished, and HOME. The sooner he can leave the shelter behind, the sooner he can begin to feel like himself again. Could you be the person who gives this sweet senior boy his second chance? His adoption fee is just $100, but the love you’ll receive in return will be priceless. 🤎 🏡 Mothman is waiting for you. Please don’t let him wait too long. 📍 Ontario SPCA York Region Animal Centre 🐾 Adoption fee: $100 🤎 Please share to help Mothman find his forever home. #AdoptASeniorCat #SeniorCatsDeserveLove #AdoptDontShop #ForeverHome #OntarioSPCA by @ospcayorkregion

🚨🐾 BANDIT IS HERE TO REMIND YOU THAT HEELERS WERE NOT BUILT FOR A SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE. 🐾🚨 Meet Bandit! An 11-month-old Heeler who is exactly what his breed is supposed to be: smart, energetic, driven, and ALWAYS ready for his next adventure. 😂 ⚡ HIGH ENERGY! A quick walk around the block probably isn’t going to cut it. Bandit needs active adventures, engaging games, and plenty of opportunities to put that busy brain to work. 🧠 SMART COOKIE! Heelers are clever, independent thinkers who need mental stimulation just as much as physical exercise. Otherwise, they’ll find their own job… and you might not love their career choice. 😉 🏃 ADVENTURE PARTNER! Hiking, exploring, training, and learning new skills? Sign him up! Bandit needs someone who genuinely enjoys an active lifestyle. 🎓 STILL A TEENAGER! At just 11 months old, he’s still learning about the world. He needs patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and someone willing to help him reach his potential. 💔 HE’S BEEN RETURNED BEFORE. Bandit deserves a home that understands his needs and is ready for the commitment. His energy doesn’t make him a bad dog, and his previous return doesn’t define him. Finding the right match matters more than finding a quick one. Bandit doesn’t need someone to change who he is. He needs someone who understands what makes a Heeler a Heeler! We’re looking for HIS people. The active, committed humans who see his energy and think, “Yep, that’s exactly the kind of adventure buddy I’ve been looking for!” 📣 Know someone who loves an adventure and understands working breeds? Tag them below! Let’s help Bandit find a home that celebrates everything that makes him special. ❤️ 📍 Meet Bandit at the Ontario SPCA York Region Animal Centre! Every adoption includes spay/neuter, a microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and one month of free food. #AdoptBandit #OntarioSPCA #YorkRegionAnimalCentre #AdoptDontShop #HeelerLife by @ospcayorkregion

Did you know today is National Feral Cat Day? The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society cares about all animals, including community cats! That’s why we have programs to support feral cats and the caretakers who look out for them. Every year, volunteers build feral cat shelters for caretakers to use. There are only a limited number, but each one gives community cats a safe, warm spot to get through our cold, harsh winters. Some community cats come into our care and can’t go back to their original colony. So we give them a job! Our working cats have zero interest in being lap cats, but what they lack in social skills, they more than make up for in keeping vermin away. Barns, stables, shops, wineries, breweries, garden centres and warehouses all make great homes for them. Want to learn more about how we help feral cats and their caregivers?
