My personal “Eat, Pray, Love” Destination . . .

. . . and now, I share my trip to Sesimbra with you 🙌🏾

Located just 25 miles south of Lisbon, Sesimbra is a place where I prioritized rest and reconnecting with me. From drinking all the wine my soul desired, eating fresh seafood daily, to building @Legos on my balcony and spending hours at the beach, this was the fuel my soul needed.

Sesimbra is a seaside town where the people are as beautiful inside and out as the view of the ocean kissing the mountains. Now, you will walk some hills😅🙆🏾‍♂️, but all roads lead to places that will fill your imagination, heart, and . . . belly 🫃🏾with just what you need.

So if you’re looking for a slower pace, nights where the ocean sings you to sleep, and potentially an alternative destination in Portugal outside of the more visited cities, save this post and plan a trip to Sesimbra.

What if I told you I planned my entire retreat around this song and the scenes the instruments made me imagine? That’s how I came up with visiting Sesimbra vs. Lisbon or Porto. And after walking home along the cobblestone pathways as the night air paced me along, this was exactly the trip I hoped for.

I just might make this an annual sojourn🌊

Como parte do mercado, a nossa enóloga Maria Vicente vai também conduzir um workshop especial de prova de Fernão Pires, onde irá dar a conhecer cinco colheitas diferentes desta icónica casta portuguesa, de 2022 a 2026.

Ostras Marotas @ostrasmarotas is back as part of this year’s market, bringing the best oysters from the Algarve and their exciting Marotas flavor experiences all the way to Vila Chã de Ourique. Fresh, local, and the perfect pairing with a glass of ODE wine. 🦪🍷

As part of the market, Ode’s winemaker Maria Vicente will also be hosting a special Fernão Pires tasting workshop, taking you through five different vintages of this iconic Portuguese variety, from 2022 to 2026.

The workshop is €10 per person, with tickets available to book in advance through our website.

Last year, Ode Winery gave us our very first GO with our Oyster Bicycle — fresh from Austria and arriving right at our doorstep. Being welcomed into such a beautiful venue was an honor we’ll never forget.
