“Un voyage au cœur de la scène hip-hop singulière du Cap, raconté par des artistes issus des périphéries de la ville.
Une mosaïque de langues, de danse et d’arts, qui révèle la manifestation du cinquième élément de cette culture - la «connaissance de soi » - dans l’Afrique du Sud post-apartheid”

A journey into the heart of Cape Town’s unique hip-hop scene, as told by artists from the city’s peripheral areas. A mosaic of languages, dance, and art, revealing the expression of the culture’s fifth element—“Knowledge of Self”—in post-apartheid South Africa. Here's a gem that took place a couple of months ago, but it's still great to look at and travel back in time to this lovely event.
We hosted a creative arts event in July with the exceptional filmmaker and visual artist Kurt Orderson. Food, wine, film screening, and Q&A. What a pleasure to make these events happen, which are all about exploring Cape Town's creative scene, artist-guest connection, conversations, and a lovely time, of course.

Get the Picture curates Creative Arts Experiences that connect visitors directly with local creatives and the creative art scene across different genres - including visual arts, music, film, theatre, photography, food and design - through authentic, immersive encounters. To Get the full Picture.

7th Annual African Film + Arts Festival, September 16–20, 2026

Five-day Providence festival brings more than 30 film screenings, live music, filmmaker conversations, and community gatherings to venues across Providence.

PVD World Music is proud to announce the return of its 7th Annual African Film & Arts Festival, taking place September 16–20, 2026, across Providence. The five-day festival celebrates the brilliance, diversity, and creativity of filmmakers and artists from Africa and the African diaspora.

Since its founding, the African Film & Arts Festival has created a space in Providence for films, stories, music, and perspectives that are rarely presented on mainstream screens. This year’s festival continues that tradition with more than 30 screenings of short and feature-length films, filmmaker conversations, live music performances, and community gatherings.

Festival activities will take place throughout Providence at the Providence Public Library, RISD Metcalf Auditorium, 195 District Park, the Watson Institute at Brown University, and the Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island.

The 2026 program brings together films and filmmakers representing countries and communities across Africa and the African diaspora, with works connected to Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Angola, Madagascar, Ghana, Haiti, Brazil, Burundi, South Africa, and beyond.
Among this year’s films are Air Conditioner from Angola, The Man Who Planted Baobabs from Burkina Faso, Disco Africa from Madagascar, The Prophet from Mozambique, Le Taxi, le Cinéma et Moi from Burkina Faso, Ondas from South Africa, We Are Not Dreaming / Não Estamos Sonhando from Brazil and My Father’s Shadow from Nigeria/UK, alongside numerous short films and other feature presentations.

The festival will also feature conversations with visiting filmmakers and artists, creating opportunities for Providence audiences to engage directly with the people behind the work. Live music is once again an important part of the festival experience, with performances including Albino Mbie, Becky Bass, Africa Nova, and additional musicians throughout the five-day celebration.

Music❌ Musical ✅

You have a musical form of expression that tells your story.
So is Mario “Amigo “whose life is one of those that has a unique style,a reconciliation of wounds, strength and a community identity.

More than just a documentary it is a life of a blind Afrikaaps hip hop storyteller and mc who turns memory, environment and sound into a rhythmic narrative.

This is his slice of life
