POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Where do I even begin? 🥹😭

I’m still in shock from everything that I experienced this weekend and organizing my complete thoughts but I’ll start off with Kenjiro Tsuda! If anyone didn’t see my story spam over the last few days, I spent most of my animenyc attending this legendary seiyuu’s panels. The first was for To Your Eternity and he took the stage with Reiji Kawashima to discuss the new season! They also performed some live lines which blew everybody away. I was lucky enough to witness it not only live but in front row 🥹🥹

The next panel was on Saturday for Yu-gi-oh! Tsuda-san talked about various things and made us all laugh when he did an impromptu “I draw Blue Eyes White Dragon!” line 😂 out of excitement. The crowd was so energetic and he was definitely grateful for all our enthusiastic responses. I said this in my stories, but he also said he can see that those who watched Yu-gi-oh as kids “grew up well” 🥹🥹

Finally, I also attended his 30th anniversary panel in the evening and successfully secured a front row seat again! This is where I met my fellow Tsudaken enthusiasts and got lots of compliments on my uchiwa lol. I even met a new friend who made one too! In this panel, Tsuda-san talked about how he got into voice acting and I thought it was so cool that he’s so well known now that certain directors automatically adjust the timing of the animation to the rhythm and cadence of his voice! He was asked if he ever gets recognized by his voice out in public and he said he often does at cafes when ordering his coffee and the cashier would make a surprised face 😂. Finally, he voiced some lines of encouragement as a gift to us and I died at “welcome home, have you eaten?” 😭 He also went around the stage AGAIN to bow and wave at us and he noticed me waving my uchiwa around and smiled extra wide, touched his chest, and held my gaze for a slightly longer moment JDKAHAJS ahhh I’ll truly never forget this magical weekend 🥹

Thanks for coming to my tedtalk! 💛

Given Exhibition Acrylics ✨

Happy #shelfiesunday! My boys are home!! I owe my life to @tetsuhadesuyo and @straw_doll_13 for picking these up for me 🥰 I may have missed out on the exhibition, but I did get their iconic, HUGE acrylic stands! I remember first seeing these designs last year or so and thinking, “man I wish they made acrylics for these.” Be careful what you wish for, I was fighting for my life trying to fit these boys on my shelf, and I didn’t even snag Ugetsu’s! Hiiragi’s totally giving me the middle finger for pushing him to the back 😂😂 I thought a size comparison next to some mini acrylics would be hilarious, and looking at them now, I realize how gorgeous all Given merch is, big or small 🥹🥹. I CAN NOT wait to see the movie once it’s released in the states. Until then, I will be rewatching again and again 🫡

MHA in concert 🎤🎸🎶

Went to see the MHA in concert show yesterday and it was so much fun! Definitely teared up a few times when they played You Say Run and the screen behind the band showing the most iconic scenes 🥹 I love how they kept in some of the voice lines! It wasn’t a full orchestra but they still filled the stage with vocalists and rock elements! Definitely jealous of Japan’s merch like the acrylic stands but I had to get SOMETHING so I went with the magnet and pins for my ita bag 🙌

Party planning days! 💜👀

Been busy preparing to host my last LADS fanevent this October for Xavier day 🥹 Before meeting with the café owner, my sis and I took our oshis to ramen! I joked about how Nagi and Xav are basically the same person in different universes 🤣

Rin Rin 💜

I’ve fallen so far behind the manga, I desperately need to catch up! Missing my B-Side boys so bad. I hope we get a season two very soon with the popularity of this series 🥹

Oshikatsu maxing in NYC 🍵🍦

Attending anyc always means bringing out my oshikatsu goods to play and this time was no exception! ☺️ I mostly brought out Yuki Kaji and Yukke-related merch to rep their guest appearances at their con but also as props for whenever I was having dessert 🤣 it still feels so surreal having seen my all time fave seiyus in the flesh and hearing their live dubbing 🥹 so grateful for this trip even though I’m STILL recovering from all the walking I did! 😮‍💨

Otakon autographs haul ✍🏻

The most insane marathon of seiyu signings in my life! I’m forever grateful to Otakon for bringing a variety of talent to this con and doing autos for FREE?! 😱 for anyone who cares, here’s a summary of how my sessions went:

1. Studio Orange brought producers and Chika Ayamori, the voice of Millie Thompson! Everyone loved my casual Millie cosplay. The producer was drawing sketches of everyone’s fave characters and I told Chika-san THERE HAS TO BE MORE MILLIE in the anime and she agreed! She also hilariously misspelled Stargaze while we were busy chatting and I made her laugh when I said in Japanese that it’s ok, English is hard isn’t it? 😂

2. Nojiken wore Kita’s jersey during my session to which I squealed “KITA DAISUKI” and showed him my merch and he thanked me very shyly lol. I didn’t mention LADS out of respect for what he was allowed to sign so I just complimented his youthful voice. At his panel I also got to show off my signature as an example and Nojiken once again thanked me and said he did his best work on my blank shikishi (I agree) 💯

3. Ryotaro Okiayu! He was surprised to hear Fruits Basket aired in the Philippines around 20 years ago for some time and cheered me on (GANBARE) for learning how to speak some Japanese 🥹

4. Tougen Anki - I compliment bombed Kazuki Ura about his amazing voice range and he enthusiastically said thank you from the bottom of his heart! My brain malfunctioned for Shogo Sakata so I just said thank you for your hard work LOL and he said thank you and nice to meet you in English JSKSJS. I thanked producer-san as well! After the signing Ura and Shogo walked RIGHT past us and waved 😱😭

4. Mitsuru-sensei was so kind and laughed heartily at all our stories for her! I said I remember the days I used to search for broken English translations of Mask Danshi online and thanked her for spreading the BL agenda overseas and she laughed and said she hopes to be back in America again next time! What a win for us fujoshis🥹🥹

What a life changing weekend! I’m honestly still recovering but so worth the exhaustion ❤️

Oshikatsu date 🖤🤍

One of my greatest joys in life is going on oshikatsu dates with my bestie 🥹 most of the merch in the pic were gifts given to ME from her last Japan trip! It was so fun setting up our little guys at the restaurant and cafe. We even had a nice little convo with our waitress after she spotted our acrylic stands 🤭 oshikatsu truly unites us all! ✊
