As Robin Williams said, ‘It’s time for your next adventure.’

In a week I graduate from Eckerd College, where I’ve been studying animal studies, biology, and filmmaking. As my time in Florida wraps up, I’ve been reflecting on the journey that brought me here—3 years of college at 2 different schools, 5 years in the conservation field so far, and countless moments that younger me could’ve only dream’t of.

Now, a new chapter begins. I’m beyond thrilled to share that I’m moving to South Africa for a little while to work in rhino conservation at a place that is close to my heart. Although I am still chasing my dream of having my own wildlife tv show, I am ready for any and every opportunity that I find myself in before then. There’s still a lot of unknowns, but God’s got His plans for me and I’m excited to take those paths when I get there!

Yesterday I got to speak to my school about Women in Wildlife using the new education program that we launched this year! I love getting to represent such an amazing organization and getting to share it with others. Many students came up to me in the end to ask questions and were curious about making a difference in this field. I’m excited to continue this journey of inspiring and advocating for the future generations of Women in Wildlife! by @other_account_inbio

Just a little check-in from my internship at the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation. The past month I have had the opportunity to table different events from the Greenways and Trail Summit, a Florida Trails Association Thru-Hiker event where we revealed one of our murals, and even the Tampa Bay Youth Ocean Summit right in my own backyard at Eckerd college. From the outstanding team I am working with to the amazing people I have met at the events, it has been an awesome experience. I love having the opportunity to speak to different people around Florida with different background and views about conservation of the Florida Wildlife Corridor. Seeing the reactions of the public about the expedition films and murals that we show and the positive impact they seem to bring is truly amazing. These penguins live in colonies along the coasts of South Africa and Namibia. Since the early 1980s, their population has declined immensely, leaving them classified as a critically endangered species on the IUCN Red List. Organizations like SANCCOB, A non-profit based out of Cape Town, are leading efforts such as rescue and rehab, education and outreach, and collaborative research to try and prevent the estimation that the African Penguin will be functionally extinct by 2035 from becoming a reality. taken in Boulders Beach, South Africa by @other_account_inbio

This weekend I drove up to Fort Fisher Aquarium in NC for a Project Wild Workshop. Projects Wild is a k-12 curriculum focused on conservation education and it is distributed but the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agency’s. It was so amazing to learn about the program and interact with the material while being along side such passionate educators. It was also a pleasure to see the AZA accredited facility and meet the awesome staff they have there and see the abundant collection! If you are interested in conservation education I highly recommend looking into this series. It is such an important thing to bring the next generation up knowing why and how to care for the wildlife and environment. by @other_account_inbio

Back again with ORE, today we went out to check on previously planted oyster pots and put some more down. We had the opportunity to film it and will be creating short documentaries for the non-profit to use on their website and on their socials to help spread the word of the amazing work they are doing!
