Our juniors recently had the opportunity to visit the AG Jeans facility and have their first design critique with AG Jeans mentors Shona McQueen, Ron Balabat, Brianna Benning, and Cory Guest. It was an exciting chance to have a closer look at the industry, share their ideas, and receive valuable feedback as they continue developing their designs before Sketch Selection. We’re grateful to the AG Jeans team for welcoming our students and taking the time to share their expertise, guidance, and encouragement.

With Sketch Selection around the corner, our seniors had the opportunity to share their work during their first critique with Eaves by Revolve mentor Sara Dunne. Our seniors have put so much time, creativity, and dedication into their work this semester, and we’re excited to see their final collections. We’re grateful to Sara and all of our mentors for taking time out of their schedules to share their expertise, offer encouragement, and help guide our designers on their senior projects.

Celebrating 100 years of Anne Cole 🤍

A visionary designer, mentor, philanthropist and longtime supporter of our Fashion Design department, Anne’s impact on Otis spans generations.

Beginning with mentor projects dating back to 1986, Anne generously shared her experience, creativity and unmistakable spirit with our students. Her support went far beyond mentorship. Her estate’s extraordinary $2.5 million gift endowment established the Anne Cole Scholarship Fund, helping future generations of Fashion Design students pursue their dreams.

Today, her name welcomes our students into the Anne Cole Building, a daily reminder of her belief in education, creativity and giving back.

For more than four decades, Bob Mackie has held a very special place in the history of Otis Fashion Design 🤍

Beginning in 1983, Bob generously shared his extraordinary talent, experience and creative vision with our students through 15 mentor projects, leaving an impact that extends far beyond the runway.

Through sketches, fittings, critiques, conversations and unforgettable collections, he gave generations of young designers the rare opportunity to learn directly from one of fashion’s great creative voices. But what we cherish most is the generosity with which he gave his time, encouragement and belief in our students.

His continued support of our program helped nurture emerging talent and created memories that remain part of Otis Fashion Design today.

Bob, thank you for believing in our students, for inspiring them to dream bigger, and for being such an extraordinary friend and supporter of our program. Your legacy at Otis is woven through generations of designers 🤍

Student Spotlight: Mina Wang and Janet Liu

A 2026 Senior Mentor Project by recent graduates Mina Wang and Janet Liu for the 2026 Otis Fashion Show, Guided by Timothy McGrath for Activision. This Project took a cinematic cocktail collection set in Paris at night where the runway and digital become insdistinguishable.

We’re continuing our series highlighting work from the 2026 Virtual Annual Exhibition, a showcase of student work across a wide range of creative disciplines.

This week’s featured artist is Carlos Arias, a recent BFA Fashion Design alum whose work blends his Latino heritage with modern aesthetics. Through clean silhouettes and intentional material choices, Carlos creates thoughtful, concept-driven pieces that explore identity, authority, and innovation.
