Would you love to get married in Mallorca? We’re here for you!

After we have been focussing for the past 8 years on weddings in the Netherlands it feels like the right moment to explore options outside our little country.
Being an “expert” about a country is a big advantage, something we noticed ofcourse ourselves for the past years. Amsterdam has been mainly our playground and we can truly say we know the city inside out.
That’s why Mallorca feels to us like a logical next step; I, Sabine, have been coming to Mallorca for the past 9 years and totally fell in love with this island. When you’re working abroad, a place also should feel like home and that’s what Mallorca feels to me. A home away from home.

Exploring options, that’s what we will be doing when we are there next week. We teamed up with Joye from @carbietravels and @liselorestap.weddings . Joye and I met via work when she was still working for a well known hotel in Amsterdam. After she worked for several exclusive hotels all over the world, she just started her own business as Travel Designer.
Joye is your person if you want to have a bespoke travel expierence, for example when you go on honeymoon. She now lives in Barcelona and joins us on this trip to visit some of the most amazing places in Mallorca.

In twee dagen 30k stappen zetten; ben je naar een festival geweest zou je dan denken. Maar nee hoor; een doodnormale werkdag waar je volledig op de adrenaline werkt en de op je zondag niet meer weet waar je t moet zoeken omdat je er gewoon he-le-maal vanaf ligt. Maar het blijft wel gewoon het allerleukste werk voor de allerliefste koppels. En het voordeel van je eigen business hebben; ik bepaal lekker zelf met wie ik werk. Dus kies ik de leukste (en beste) uit. Werken met je vriendinnen blijft toch het allerfijnste.
Het was er weer een met een gouden randje.
Voorlopig nu even klaar met de wedding madness, over 3 maanden mag ik weer.

Lisanne and Milan. A wedding that felt completely suspended in time.

Right before the ceremony we walked through the caves behind the castle - the place where the EU was symbolically formed, the year I was born. On a small part of the wall you can see all the signatures carved on Marlstone, limestone that once, some millions of years ago, belonged to the bottom of the sea.

I am not naive enough to think that the images I create will last more than a few generations at most, but being in the presence of such obvious signs of time, of memory so well-kept, you just naturally feel the urge to create work that is not fleeting - work that feels relevant and that can acknowledge the passing of time but also help bridge the gap when the time comes, even if just a little.

Working with couples who really know what they want (and, perhaps more importantly, what they don’t want) can feel scary, but it’s the type of challenge that always pushes me into a new phase in my relationship with photography. Being asked to do things differently, to trust my vision and to deliver something that hasn’t been delivered a thousand times already - something I try to do on each wedding but the freedom feels extra large when the couple also wants that and truly believes I am capable of achieving it.

Lisanne and Milan’s wedding was everything. Two days of constantly thinking how indescribably lucky I am that I get to meet and photograph people who are so uniquely special, so kind, so fun to be around. Just amazing humans, really. These are just a few favourites from their welcome dinner at @chateaustgerlach with a sunset straight out of a dream.

In the heart of Amsterdam, Jarin and Lindsay said their vows last weekend! Such a relaxed, adventurous duo where love and warmth come naturally. During a dance moment that evening, Jarin said, “Not everything can be perfect.” And maybe that’s exactly what makes it real perfection, the humanity and ease around their wedding day. How do you capture an unforgettable wedding weekend in Amsterdam in just 20 slides? You really can’t… but we gave it our best shot! ✨

Katie & Brian’s celebration wasn’t just a wedding; it was a true Amsterdam experience. With three unique venues, each with its own vibe and charm, their weekend became a little love letter to life in this city.

We kicked things off with a cosy rehearsal dinner at our beloved @dedurgerdam , the perfect warm start surrounded by their closest friends and family.

The next day, everyone gathered at Café Struis by @brouwerijtij for local beers, Dutch bites, burgers and great music. The ideal welcome to the weekend.

And for the big day… the stunning, newly opened @rosewoodamsterdam stole the show. ✨
