One month of Otters. 🦦

Feeling very, very grateful.

To everyone who walked through our doors, came back, brought someone along, shared a thought or gave us feedback, thank you.

Our first month has been full of little lessons, lots of listening and learning as we go.

Thank you for speaking to us honestly and giving us the chance to make Otters a little better each day.

There’s something nice about that little window of time before the evening picks up. The light changes, the lamps come on, someone opens a book, we put the menus out and get everything ready.

And then we wait for the first guests to walk in. Before long, the tables are full, the glasses are clinking and you see that Otters has a life of its own.

But these little moments before all of that? We love those, too. 🦦 by @ottersbargoa

Found a lovely new bar in Mayem, and I think this part of Goa needed a place like this.

Otters has this cozy, old-world charm with soft lights, good music and a space that feels made for long conversations over drinks.

Their cocktail menu has a good mix of classics and their own creations. Otterly Strange is definitely worth trying, while the Basil Smash was my personal favourite. They also have some good craft beers if that’s more your thing.

But honestly, don’t go just for the drinks. The food deserves its own mention. Probably the best veg chops I’ve tried so far. The mutton curry with rice was delicious, comforting and full of flavour. And definitely try the pepper fried prawns with porotta.

What I really liked is that the food doesn’t feel like an afterthought to the bar. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with dishes rooted in familiar flavours, stories and authenticity.

Good cocktails, great food and an old-world setting that makes you want to stay for another round.
