🎭 What does a musical theatre teacher do before a student showcase?

Meet Donni, director of the SZA Musical Club at Shenghua Zizhu School —
doing makeup, choreographing, directing, vocal coaching, running tech, cueing music & slides... and even hosting the entire show in both English and Chinese!

Behind every moment on stage is a team working hard offstage.
Musical theatre is a beautiful blend of singing, dancing, acting — and teamwork.

Because we love it,
we give it our time, energy, and heart.
Every rehearsal is a step toward something unforgettable. 🌟

AX is my alter ego created during the pandemic (2020). He’s an extraterrestrial being trapped on Earth for unknown reasons, filled with curiosity about humans and human society.

Since its creation, AX has been performed in two different versions. This work will evolve and grow with my artistic journey, and I’ll continue to develop it.

This weekend at @system_shanghai ‘s Data Relic event, I’ll present the third version of AX: *The Story Eater*. This 20-minute one-on-one experience invites each audience member into a private tent where AX, obsessed with stories, will share the previous participant’s tale. Through interaction, a new story will emerge to be passed on to the next viewer.

Performance/Concept: @donnidang_
Makeup Design: Damian
