If you've had a chance to come around the OUBCM much, you may be familiar with the idea of discipleship. 📔 Here at the OUBCM, we care about discipleship because Jesus cared about discipleship. Jesus gives us this command in a passage often called the Great Commission:

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

He tells us clearly to make disciples of all nations. 🌎 A disciple is just a follower of Jesus striving to obey God's word and make His name known.

So what is discipleship then?

Discipleship can look like many things but it is the opportunity God has given us to invest in other people and teach them how to obey what He has commanded, just like it says in the verse in Matthew. Discipleship can look like a group of people gathered together to strive to grow and know God's word, or a one-on-one time to intentionally receive training and grow. It looks like living real life together. It can happen anywhere, even at Costco over a slice of pizza (shoutout Bethany and Addison).

"And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." (2 Timothy 2:2)

This is what we are all about. We want to train you to be a disciple of Jesus who invests in others and makes more disciples. by @oubcm
