Welcome to the NMR Lab at CAS ⚛️🧲⚡️

Widely used for determining the structure and characterization of organic, inorganic, and biological molecules, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) offers unique advantages over methods such as X-ray crystallography, particularly in resolving three-dimensional structures of biological molecules.

The NMR Facility in the @ouchembiochem at the @uofoklahoma consists of five solution NMR spectrometers (400 MHz VNMRS, 500 MHz VNMRS, 600 MHz Varian, 400 MHz JEOL, and 500 MHz JEOL).

These instruments are open access to all research groups at the University of Oklahoma and throughout the state of Oklahoma. Users within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry have access to the NMR Facility twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The goal of the NMR Facility is to provide timely access and necessary training to all relevant research groups, supporting the rapid development of research programs. Approximately half of the 90 graduate students in the department routinely use NMR spectrometers, and all B.S. chemistry majors obtain experience with NMR in their advanced laboratory courses.
