Welcome to Our Daily Manna! šŸ‘‹šŸ¼

Over the last several months, I’ve felt a push from God to share Him and my love for Him and His word more boldly. Honestly, I’ve felt a lot like Moses in Exodus 3 & 4; ā€œWho am Iā€ to be sharing my faith? I’m not great with words. There are so many other accounts and people much better suited to sharing than I am.

But I’ve felt God give me the same promise He gave Moses: ā€œCertainly I will be with youā€ … ā€œI will be with your mouth, and teach you what you should sayā€. And if I know anything, it’s that God is faithful to His promises.

So here we are. Starting where we are and trusting God to work His miracles. You can expect to see daily (or almost daily🤪) nuggets of joy and faith and I’m so happy you’re here.šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Jeremiah 24:7 says ā€œAnd I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.ā€

I feel like we are living in a modern fulfillment of this prophesy. We are living in a time of spiritual revival where so many hearts are being turned to want to come to know the Lord. What a beautiful time to be alive!šŸ¤ I pray that all our hearts will be softened to come to know Him as He is. That we will have eyes to see and ears to hear and hearts to understand!

Just a reminder that when life got hard for Elijah and he didn’t know how to keep going, he slept and an angel came and made him some food. So if you’re having a hard day, try taking a nap and getting a snack and it might help!šŸ¤

Ezekiel chapter 18 spells out one of the most beautiful doctrines and characteristics of God. We all fall short and make mistakes. We may even have moments where we feel as if our worst moments will define us forever.

In verses 21-22 it says ā€œBut if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.ā€

Forgiveness is available to all. No matter how far you you’ve travelled from God, He has provided a way back through His Son, Jesus Christ with a promise that your lowest moments will not only not define how He sees you, but they will not even be mentioned. There is hope of a completely fresh start. There is hope of a completely new beginning and it’s all because of Jesus Christ.

I love the quote from Jeffrey R Holland that says, ā€œā€¦surely the thing God enjoys most about being God is the thrill of being merciful, especially to those who don’t expect it and often feel they don’t deserve it.ā€ He delights in being able to show you mercy.šŸ¤ Never forget that!!

As I finished Jeremiah this last week, one of the most prominent themes that stuck out to me was how often God called His prophets to warn the people of their wickedness, and still they chose not to listen.

Prophets are called by God to teach, lead, and guide God’s people. They are called to warn them of their iniquities. And they’re called to prepare God’s children to meet their Maker.

This felt especially important as we just had general conference this weekend. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we make the bold claim that God still calls prophets today and twice a year we gather as a church to learn what God wants us to know right now. Are we listening? Do we listen, but move on as if the messages are inspirational speeches only? Or are we actively striving to allow the words of God to transform us and change us into who He needs us to be in preparation for Christ’s return?

In James 1:22 James tells us to be doers of the word and not hearers only. Our lives should be an active reflection of our faith in Christ. His words weren’t just intended to be inspirational messages, but tools for the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts. God never intended for you to be the best version of yourself. He intends to make you ā€œnew creaturesā€ completely through His Son Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The heavens are open. We are receiving guidance from God specific for our day and time. We are receiving guidance that will prepare us and help us to prepare the world for the second coming of Jesus Christ. Are we listening? Are we doing? Are we becoming?

I started Ezekiel yesterday and it’s already filling my soul! Chapters 1&2 open with this beautiful vision of the Lord. At the end of chapter 2 Ezekiel is given a book that had written in it ā€œlamentations, and mourning, and woe.ā€ As we move into chapter 3 the Lord asks Ezekiel to eat the book, which to me symbolizes him really internalizing the message and taking it to heart. As Ezekiel eats this book he explains it to be ā€œas honey for sweetness.ā€

We have just had a Spirit-filled weekend with messages from men and women called by God to prepare us for the return of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Are we ā€œfeastingā€ on their words? Are we ā€œfeastingā€ on the words of Christ found in the scriptures? And if we are, do we find that they are sweet to our taste or are they filled with lamentations and mourning?

By the end of chapter 3 Ezekiel has been called by God to be ā€œa watchmanā€ for the house of Israel. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and He has called watchmen to teach us, warn us, and lead us back to Christ. But we decide if we receive their words or not. We decide if we feast on their words or not.

The truth is that God accepts every meager effort of prayer. He even accepts the unspoken words that only our hearts know. I just got to the point where I knew God deserved more from me.

About a year ago I realized that my prayer life was struggling. My prayers were scatter-brained, repetitive, and I would often end up going 10 minutes before realizing my mind had wandered so far that I’d forgotten I was even praying. I knew something needed to change.

That’s when I started prayer journaling. As I wrote out my prayers I noticed some big changes.

1: My mind slowed down. I stopped feeling the need to rush from start to finish and my mind stopped wandering.

2: I became a lot more intentional about the things I was saying. My prayers were no longer the same day after day.

3: I became more aware of what I was thanking and asking Him for. I also realized how often I was asking more than I was thanking.😬

4: I stopped treating prayer as a checklist item and more like the conversation God intended it to be. I took time to slow down and listen for God’s responses. We believe in a God who loves us enough to speak to us and to answer our prayers and I started acting like it. I always have two different colored pens. One for my prayer and one for His responses to me.

Prayer is such a sacred opportunity for us to be able to communicate with the creator of the universe. He knows us and loves us and wants to talk to us. I don’t journal every prayer, and sometimes it’s only a couple of paragraphs, but I’ve noticed that this practice has made prayer even more tender for me!

If today feels hard, remember that hope can be found in Jesus Christ. His mercies are new every morning. Each day is a new opportunity to start over and start fresh.ā˜€ļø

Earlier this year I felt prompted to start this page and start sharing my testimony. I’ve often wondered ā€œwhy me?ā€ I am no scriptorian, I’m no scholar, and I’m definitely no master speaker. My reach here on this corner of the internet is very limited, but as I’ve shared I’ve come to realize that my job isn’t to feed the 5,000. My job isn’t to go after the 99. My job is to find the one.

As I seek God’s help to know what to share, my hope has become that it can reach just one single person who needs that message. My hope is that my testimony can bless just one.

And the beautiful thing is God can work through each of us to reach His one. Yesterday as I listened to Elder Gerald Caussé talk about sharing our testimonies, I saw how big God’s plan really is. We all have a part to play. We are all needed. These really are the last days where we get to prepare the world for the second coming of Jesus Christ. And I don’t know about you, but I want to be an active participant in that!

ā€œImagine what could happen if all of us—millions of disciples of Jesus Christ-consistently shared our testimonies. Countless lives would be blessed, faith would grow, and the love of Christ would spread more abundantly throughout the world.ā€ -Gerald Caussé
