One day it was delivered, the next day it was all installed — including the benchtops! How quickly it all comes together is crazy!

TILE DELIVERY! ✨

Our on-site tile meeting is booked for next week and we cannot wait to see all our choices again, in person! 🥹

It feels like forever ago we were tile shopping, searching for the ones… and then we found these beauties at @crosbytiles — and knew they were perfect for our home.

✨ WEEK 27 — CORNICES ✨

📅 14th–18th September 2026

A quieter week on site… the kind where you’re mostly just waiting for the next orders to arrive 😅

But there’s still progress! 👀✨

The cornices/coving are now complete and the holes have been cut, ready for the downlights to go in 💡

🏡 it’s another step closer!🤍

🏡 WEEK 26 ✨

7th–11th September 2026

Walls & Ceilings = LINED! 🙌🏼

WHAT. A. WEEK! 🤩

The walls and ceilings are now lined and suddenly… we have rooms 🏡✨

The first signs of plastering are going up, those walls are getting a serious transformation — and I even managed to sneak a peek one evening and spot the cornices being started! 👀

Next up… plaster + cornices, I think! 🤞🏼
Let’s see what this next week brings! ✨

Always exciting visiting site and seeing the progress! 🏡✨

This was us last weekend — just having a sneaky little look around, only to be completely caught by surprise by how much had changed! 👀🤍

And just when we thought we’d seen all the progress… MORE PROGRESS to report from this week! 🙌🏼✨

Keep an eye out for the next update… 🤗🏡

WEEK 25 |
31st Aug – 4th Sept 2026 🏡✨

Windows & Insulation

It feels SO good to finally write a positive progress post! 🙌🏼

This week saw the glazing and insulation go in, and it’s really starting to feel like our house is coming together! 🪟✨

A great week on site, plenty of progress and lots to be excited about.

We’re loving seeing the difference these stages are making — it’s all starting to feel a little more real! 🤍

Next up… wall lining! 👀

Do I spy glazing?!? 👀

Who knew seeing windows would be so exciting!
That alongside the insulation going in✨👍

Although… seeing it in place has me thinking that handle needs to be a little more special! 😂🚪

🤍 White aluminium front door -
Upgraded to the wider door as we had adapted the hallway width also.

✨ Privacy glass
🔩 Brushed nickel/steel handle

WEEK 24 🏡✨

Site Meeting + Site Clean
| 24th–28th August

After last week’s mishaps, we asked for a site meeting with our new Site Manager — and honestly, it was just what we needed.

It was great to talk through the outstanding issues and get a clearer picture of what’s happening next.

It’s given us a little more hope and reassurance that things are finally moving in the right direction 🤞🏼

And there’s plenty to look forward to next week, with glazing and insulation planned — two more big steps towards seeing this house really start to come together! 🪟🏡

Good news: the cavity slider has now been rectified ✅
The electrician is also due back to sort the remaining bits and pieces.

One step forward at a time… and hopefully fewer surprises from here! 😂

WEEK 23 🏠🚧
A few errors to rectify!

17th–21st August 2026

Just when we thought we were finally ROLLING again… we spotted a few things that weren’t quite right 👀

And this is exactly why we’ve learnt to check, check and check again! 📋🔍

1️⃣ Missing GPO in the scullery
Not only was the GPO missing… it had actually been purposely left out by the electrician because there wasn’t enough space for it. 😳

The slightly frustrating part? It’s been shown on our plans for months! 🤦‍♀️

2️⃣ Missing TV conduit
Most of the GPO points are in, BUT the conduit for our wall-mounted TV has been missed in the living area. 📺

Another one for the list!

3️⃣ And then came the surprise… 😭
We were SO excited to see the laundry cavity slider and door frame had finally gone in… 🎉

…until we realised they’d been installed the wrong way around! 🫠

Thankfully, all of these were picked up by us walking through the house, checking our plans and asking questions — and then confirmed by our building inspector. 👷‍♂️📋

It’s definitely a reminder that even when everything looks like it’s coming together, there can still be little (or not so little!) things hiding in plain sight.

Now to get these sorted so we can hopefully get back to making progress rather than making lists! 😂

Anyone else had build errors picked up during their walkthroughs? Tell us we’re not alone! 👇🏼

✨ WEEK 22 | ROOF — GLORIOUS ROOF! 🏠✨

📅 10th–14th August 2026

IT’S ON! 🙌 The roof is finally in, and weirdly… the whole space suddenly feels SO much bigger! 😍

Seeing the house come together week by week is honestly getting more exciting — and watching the kids experience these big milestones with us makes it even more special. 🥹❤️

We’ve hit a tiny pause while we wait for a double GPO + conduit to be sorted, but hopefully we’ll be back moving again soon 🤞

And then…

➡️ NEXT UP:
🏠 Internal walls
✨ Ceilings

Who else found it felt bigger with the roof cover on?
