This is the trailer for the JapanTown Project No.5 Film. You can find the Youtube Link to the full film in @our_summit ‘s “description”.

In 2013, the original JapanTown mural went up on Queen Street West - rooted in community, memory, and placemaking. In 2025, we came back to repaint it. This film follows the JapanTown Collective as they navigate what it means to repaint a legacy mural at a time when so many cultural sites are being erased.

The shark is back and the bowl is blue!!!

We are ready for @waterdownribfestskatejam 2026 Saturday June 27th. Hosted by @waterdown_ribfest

We have to thank all the people that made this all happen.

@rotary_club_of_waterdown and @rotaryclubofflamborougham for their continued financial and community support both for the Skatejam and the supplies for maintaining the bowl.

To @grindstone.physio for a very generous donation to rotary to help cover the cost of the paint for the art work.

Finally the Waterdown skatepark community that donated time, money and most of all the positive space to make this happen.

The shark mural was created and workshopped by artist @timmifuk along with @our_summit and facilitated by @directorken . They donated their time and talent to create a fresh new take on the bowls iconic shark originally created by @sfgraham

We look forward to welcoming everyone next Saturday for another amazing day of skating this gem of a park! Let the good times roll!!! taken in Waterdown Skate Park by @our_summit

@our_summit is teaming up with Ontario’s independent bowl event organizers, @ontarioskateboarding.ca and @canadaskateboard to help support some of the province’s best bowl contests this season.

The events you already know and love will now feature points toward Canada Skateboard’s National Ranking, added cash prizes throughout the series, and a $2,000 Ontario Bowl Championship purse ($1,000 men’s / $1,000 women’s) for the skaters who earn the most points across the full season.

You’ll also find murals, workshops, and other creative activations at stops across the province.

🎨 PAINT THE BOWL — Community Mural Workshop

Want to learn how a skatepark mural comes to life?
Join lead artist @timmifuk on June 18 from 6–8 PM for a hands-on community mural workshop at the Waterdown Bowl. Participants will learn mural planning, painting techniques, and help shape the next chapter of this iconic skate spot.

🗓 Workshop: June 18, 6–8 PM

Those who attend the workshop and show enthusiasm for the project may be invited back on June 19 to apprentice alongside Tim as he completes the mural.

No mural experience required. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to get involved! taken in Waterdown Skate Park by @our_summit
