Next stop Camping #picosdeeuropa at Avin. It's a big sprawling site. It's got everything you need and the facilities were good but I didn't really feel it and probably wouldn't come back. It was very hot and we chose our pitch for shade rather than views so other pitches might give you a better sense of your surroundings. Back to the coast for our next stop @costaverdecamping at Colunga. We were there for the last few days of the season so it was relatively quiet. I think closing day was the 16th of September. We really liked the site, we had a good sized pitch next to the river. Staff were friendly and helpful and it has a decent bar/restaurant. The facilities were very clean. It's very close to the beach for spotting dinosaur footprints and you can easily walk to Colunga and Llastres. It's an ACSI site but doesn't offer any discounts. After Malpica, we headed for the hills. We stayed at Camping Municipal de Sobrescobio in Villamorey. The site is only a year old so the facilities are very modern and it has a bar/restaurant. It's close to the Ruta de Alba and there are lots of other walking opportunities direct from the site. It's a short walk into Rioseco where there is a reservoir, bars and restaurants. The campsite has small and large pitches, none of which have any shade - worth bearing in mind for high summer. We turned up on a Thursday with no reservation and they could only accommodate us for 2 nights. They were completely full at the weekend but there was an event in Rioseco. We had a large pitch with EHU and paid 27€ a night. We stayed for 3 nights at Camping Valdovino, a bargain with the ACSI card at 19€ a night. It's a good site with a restaurant and a short walk to the beach and lagoon. It's popular with surfers and was quite busy when we were there in early September. The location is good if you like walking, with routes in both directions. It's also very good for #sunsetlovers🌅 Very friendly and helpful staff. We did an overnight stop at #malpica on the #costadamorte at camping sisargas. The site was pleasant enough but it was virtually empty and the reception person made me feel that we were a bit of an inconvenience. It's an ACSI site but no off-season discount. It was a nice walk into Malpica on the back lanes but there wasn't much going on in the town. #campinglife #t5camper #travelphotography📷 by @our_van_morrison

Stop 5 on the Spanish road trip was at @campingcostadamorte in Lamas. This is a really good site, bordering a river, with nice walks in the surrounding area. It has modern, clean facilities and very friendly and helpful owners. It's been very thoughtfully laid out with places to sit and chill.It has a food truck but it's only open in the summer months so was closed when we were there. It's an ACSI site but not on the list of those offering out of season discounts. We did get a 2€ a night reduction though and it was very good value at 23€ a night. The site is open year round and has hard standing as well as grass pitches. It was really hot when we were there so it was a couple of days of chilling for us. Next stop was Camping San Francisco at Louro on the west coast of Galicia. Nice site with good sized pitches, clean facilities and a restaurant. It is situated next to a convent and close to the beach. We walked to Muros which is a pretty town with restaurants, bars and shops and a weekly market. We also walked to the lighthouse - great views along the way. Spanish road trip stop 3 was at Camping Gaivota, close to Playa de las Catedrales. The pitches were quite small but it wasn't that busy so we had space around us. There were bigger pitches for larger Motorhomes. It's a really nice site right across the road from a great beach. It has a restaurant and good clean facilities. 19€ with the ACSI card - a bargain. We visited #playadelascatedrales - you have to book a timeslot online supposedly to control numbers. There were still loads of people there which detracted from the experience. It is beautiful but go out of season. We walked there from the campsite - 12km round trip. There is a lovely boardwalk to follow. #travelphotography📷 #vanlifediaries #spain🇪🇸 by @our_van_morrison

Next stop on our Spanish #roadtrip was #cudillero . We stayed at @wecampsites which I would recommend. Nice big pitches with hedges for privacy. Good toilet/shower facilities which were always very clean. Same sort of sustainability model as Huttopia. The pool was open until September 15th. It also had a small shop and restaurant. We walked into Cudillero from the site which took about 50 minutes. NB it's a steep climb back up from Cudillero. The village is very picturesque but it was very busy when we were there in late August. #camping #travelphotography #travel taken in Cudillero, Asturias by @our_van_morrison

Just back from four weeks in Northern Spain. After a super smooth crossing, thanks @brittanyferries first stop was #ribadesella. We stayed at Camping Playa Sources. It was ok but as is common in Spain, the pitches were really close together. It was still peak season when we were there and it was very busy. It felt a bit like camping in a car park. The shower and toilet facilities were a bit old but were kept very clean. It was about a 40 minute walk into the town. I wouldn't go back to this one in peak season. Just back from a very enjoyable 3 nights at @campandcaravan site at #chertsey We used to live in Weybridge so it was a bit of a trip down memory lane. We were also lucky enough to have seats on Centre Court yesterday, witnessing the epic Fery/Cobboli match. The atmosphere was amazing but boy was it hot!! 🥵 #wimbledon🎾 #weynavigation #tennis #vantrip by @our_van_morrison
