I guess this is a good time to introduce myself. I’m Sarah, a military spouse and mom to 2 teenagers. I’m so happy that you’re here!

Decorating has always been a part of my life. Even as a kid I would rearrange my room and decorate with whatever it was that I owned. I have been known to have odd collections over the years, but these days the things I collect are downright beautiful! I believe we all deserve a beautiful home to live in, whatever that looks like for you. Ours are temporary for now, but that doesn’t mean I won’t make them as beautiful as possible for the time being. There’s a stigma against military housing, and in some cases, rightfully so. But as a general statement, I don’t believe that they are bad. I believe it’s what you make of it. As someone who is passionate about interior design and now sharing that publicly, there can sometimes be pressure to make these temporary places completely unrecognizable. I love all the changes that are possible to make in a rental! And I’m not shaming anyone who does, but as a military family who moves every few years, I prioritize saving that money for our forever home. And in this case, that looks like not changing out every fixture and keeping these lovely textured white walls. Instead, that money goes into a high yield savings account that can be used to make our more permanent home everything we dream of! I can make a space feel like home with what we have and the impact of that is felt by my whole family. Proof that every weird corner has potential! This little nook at the top of the landing felt kind of random until now.
