Maya Angelou wrote “Phenomenal Woman” at 50 in 1978.

Fifty. Seasoned . Certain. Fully aware of the weight and wonder of her womanhood.

That confidence you feel in every line ? It wasn’t written from her youth. It came from lived experience. From scars, different stages, survival and self-possession.

It feels earned because it was.

& here is what gets me: She wrote it over 40 years ago & it still resonates for woman today, with the same power the woman reading in 1978 felt.

That’s because wisdom doesn’t have an expiration date. Truth that comes from lives experience transcends generations 🫶🏽 by @ourcommon.threads
