How are all the other hydrangea parents doing? It’s been a nail biting few days keeping these babies happy (alongside the human ones), but they have fared remarkably well. I lost a few stems to The Storm, but otherwise Annabelle’s #1 - 11 are starting to look gorgeous. Who knew a row of hydrangeas could bring such pride and joy?! I plan on going a garden before and after shortly as we have worked so hard to transform this area in the last 18 months - like every other aspect of the house the garden was so neglected. But not any more! I hope you’re all starting to cool down now? On behalf of all breastfeeding mothers - this heat can do one! by @ourhighviewhome
After a week of lurgy in the house, and lots of musical beds, our green beauty was starting to look like it belonged to Tracey Emin…so the weekend called for some extreme cleaning and faffing. Somewhat optimistic of me - both smalls were back in with me by midnight 🤪. by @ourhighviewhome
I took this photo just before going into labour…and then of course forgot to post it with the new human to care for! I’d just added this little metal table from @zarahome that I had been eyeing up for ages - a perfect little side table for that quiet bubble bath I’ll have in a year or two!! Absolutely spoilt with this delivery! The beautiful Margot from @wreathsuk is the perfect addition to the guest room - tying in both seasonal colour and the existing tones in here. An up and down week here - in both weather and temperaments…! The threenager is in full ‘no listening ears’ mode, the baby has worked out how to climb stairs, and the clock change has made sleep even worse than usual - BUT, we have made a start on panelling the landing, I had a lovely delivery and found the most perfect Christmas decorations for the kitchen so not all is lost (bar my sanity). Phoebe’s room has pretty new blinds! With this beautiful big bay, she has the best view in the house. However, it’s bloody chilly on a winter’s morning with all the cold glass and very bright at sunrise in the summer - so we had concluded a while back that we should add custom blind research to the to do list… When the lovely Joyce @neutralcurtains got in touch, it seemed the perfect time to get some blinds up for her ahead of the really cold months. There were so many options to customise the blinds for our space, which was really important given how much the children play on this window seat. Pheebs immediately made a beeline for the pink stripe, and I opted to layer it up with a warm 150gsm lining. The Loxley linen is OEKO-TEX®, meaning it is both child friendly, odour and cord free ensuring a safe install for the small people. I loved that the head rail came completely covered too so there were no ugly metal ends visible. To my surprise, Phoebe also loves them now they are up (she’s 3, and therefore somewhat unpredictable!) and takes great delight in telling me ‘I DO IT MYSELF!’ - her efforts feature in the reel, along with her favourite bedtime song 💕 Below are two discount codes I am able to pass on - enjoy! Not the sexiest reveal, but I’m pretty pleased with this little upgrade! This hearth has been sat unfinished for over 2 years, and as we’re still in two minds about installing a log burner here it doesn’t make sense to spend time and money tiling it…so I cheated! 30 minutes with some peel and stick tiles, and I’m wondering why it didn’t occur to me sooner?! Not perfect, but good enough at a glance and a perfect compliment to the @kukoonrugs Isadora. What a day 🌧️ - our power is just back on after candlelit bath and bed for the children. The cat meanwhile has spent the day practicing his tornado drills… We’re pumpkin picking tomorrow so really hoping the weather improves miraculously overnight! A little carousel capturing our dreamy curtains from the lovely people @cozyology.curtains. Genuinely such a lovely company to work with, and once again a beautiful product. I opted for unlined cotton linen curtains, as I wanted something more gentle and opaque to let in the north facing light. Soft to the touch, and to look at - I couldn’t be happier! I’ve just realised how long it’s been since I posted…! It’s been a busy few weeks hosting some wonderful friends and family, with a little dose of (what I think) was Covid in between. It’s been a long time since I have felt that rough - the sore throat was next level! So here’s a little camera roll round up to catch you up: 1. Beautiful framing for our wedding music from @photoframesandart 2. The prettiest new blinds for Phoebe from @neutralcurtains - finally installed yesterday! 3. My husband, the chef 4. @royalcrescent_hotel grounds 5. Revisiting our @kbbmagazine features 6. @royalcrescent_hotel afternoon treats 7. Mum life (shout out to @halara_uk for the best pockets) 8. School visits @priorpark_college 9. Everything bedazzled 10. Trying to beat the rain by @ourhighviewhome
Ooof…I am so tired I can barely feel my face this morning (Zoe is teething), so on with the coffee, the lamps and the blankets for her nap. When @kukoonrugs reached out and asked me to be part of their ‘Rug Reset’ challenge, I couldn’t have been more excited! I had been lusting after this rug for the dining room since it was launched as I knew it would finish the dining room PERFECTLY. The vintage style of the Isadora fits in seamlessly with the age of our home, not to mention the beautiful green tones which made it an obvious choice. It arrived just in time to switch up the space for autumn, and it’s added so much warmth…so much so that it’s impossible to film any content without Monty in the way, who loves it just as much as I do! The lovely people at Kukoon have kindly given me a discount code too - ourhighviewhome10 for 10% off.
