Okay, I’ve been teasing these t-shirts for 1 or is it 2 years now? Madness!

This just shows the reality of mum work life balance, oh mix in a few overseas house moves too.

The coral dress is a stunning midi length dress. I’m only 5ft 1, so this sits like a maxi dress for me. I still love it though but it makes making content a little tricky when I’m so short!

I can’t make these anymore. 💔
Our UK leggings factory has closed its doors.

Not because they weren’t brilliant at what they did. Not because there wasn’t demand for quality. Simply because the reality of manufacturing in the UK has become so difficult that they could no longer afford to stay open.

It’s heartbreaking.

These leggings were a long time in the making. We spent so much time developing them together to get them exactly right — the yarn, the fit, the feel, the support — because I wanted to create leggings women would genuinely love wearing, and that were sustainable and ethically made.

They’ve become one of Our Journy’s best-selling pieces. So finding out the factory has had to close is gutting.

And there’s another part that makes it even harder: this was the only UK factory doing circular whole-garment knitting.

So now I have an impossible decision: discontinue a best-selling product that so many of you love, or look into manufacturing them overseas.

One of the things I’ve always been most proud of about Our Journy is our commitment to UK manufacturing. Making in the UK isn’t just a marketing decision. I genuinely believe in supporting skilled makers, keeping production close to home and preserving the knowledge and craftsmanship that exists here.

But what happens when the factories simply aren’t there anymore?

Rising costs, increasing overheads, cheaper overseas production and shrinking margins are making it incredibly difficult for UK manufacturers to survive.

And every time another factory closes, we don’t just lose a supplier. We lose skilled jobs, expertise and generations of knowledge.

I don’t share this for sympathy. I share it because I think it’s important that we understand what’s happening behind the clothes we buy.

The choices we make as consumers do have an impact. Supporting businesses that value responsible production helps show there is still a place for skilled manufacturing, quality and making things properly.

Right now, I genuinely don’t know what the future of these leggings looks like.

I’m trying to teach my daughters that clothes aren’t disposable. 🤍

That behind every piece is a person, a process, a material, a story — and that buying less, choosing well and caring for what we already have can make a difference.

This book, Slow Fashion by Megan Anderson, Genna Campton & Carolyn Ang, has been such a beautiful reminder of why this matters.

Because ultimately, I don’t just want to build a more conscious wardrobe for myself. I want my girls to grow up questioning the constant cycle of buy, wear, throw away, repeat.

We need to change our relationship with fashion.
We need to move away from consumerism and towards intention.

And I think that change starts with what we teach our children. 🌿
