I’m just about to give our little ensuite shower room a freshen up with a coat of our favourite @paintandpaperlibrary Barbican [previous PR product] and it got me thinking how hard working this little space is and it’s the second smallest room in the flat!
.
Since moving in, this has been a breakfast room, lockdown office, junk storage space, Mabel’s bedroom [insert photo of puppy Mabel sleeping] and now it’s a mighty little shower room, well designed and put together by @gbarchitectsltd and @nestscotland. Measuring in at a dinky 1.20m x 2.80m it really does pack a punch, loads of storage huge walk in shower and a massive mirror - what more do you need?!
.
Looking back at some of the previous uses of this space, last photo is the sale brochure photo, where the previous owners used it as a little tv room. It’s hard to believe that this was the original kitchen when the building was converted into flats in the 1990s, we always wonder what the Victorians would have originally used this tiny room for?

A weekend away sometimes just hits right.
.
A few weeks ago, we stayed at Macbeth’s Bothy @dunsinnan as a bit of a birthday treat for Rog and it was the perfect detox. Words can’t describe how restful it was. We ate all the nice food, went to all the farm shops and bought all the treats!
.
Macbeth’s bothy has the chicest interior designed by Alice at Dunsinnan together with @studiofantoush - the colour palette and layers of textures are just beautiful - making for such a restful experience. Macbeth’s Bothy truly is a little haven, sitting at the edge of the village of Collace it feels like you’re a million miles from anywhere. Fun fact Dunsinane Hill was mentioned in Shakespeare’s Macbeth!!

Sound up to experience the tranquility…

I’m not sure I can squeeze in a big @williamholland_ltd copper bath into our little courtyard at home and I’m not sure if it would be the same zen like experience either, but I can pop a @biggreenegg on my Christmas list can’t I?
.
We also love that Dunsinnan Estate minimise their carbon footprint on the estate, an air source heat pump powers the bothy, finishings and furnishings were sourced sustainably and there were some little treats left for us too, all by some lovely local producers. Not to mention our favourite @laurathomasco toiletries.

A little before and after just because it’s been a while.
.
Would you believe this tiny little courtyard garden was one of the two things that sold us this flat? (Swipe for the selling agents photo >>>).
.
You wouldn’t think it to look at the mismatching fence panels and the overgrown ivy. Although it is a little private sanctuary - stepping out from our bedroom, which as may of you will know used to be a very random conservatory kitchen when we first moved in.
.
Now the question is, how many pots of plants counts as too many?
.
PS any tips on how I can make this magnolia seem a little more cheerful - it’s not been its finest year…..

Obsessed with the viral dog reels that seem to be dominating my feed (not complaining). I thought it was only right to have a place for our Mabel on the grid.

We’ve had a little Instagram break and also a little real life break to Toronto, which was one of the coolest cities we’ve visited. This is your PSA to book a trip there. Food and drinks scene was unreal!
.
Not going to lie, it was cold, -19 when we landed but a balmy average of -6 for the majority of our trip. Incredible to experience Niagara Falls in wintery conditions though - WOW (swipe to the end).
.
The warm welcome the team at @acehoteltoronto gave us, definitely made up for the sub zero outside temperatures.
.
The interiors at the Ace Hotel were quite the vibe. Loved the exposed concrete; the industrial look, softened with bare timber and ply and warm tones through the soft furnishings and painted surfaces.
.
Obsessed with the sage green tiles at reception, the copper detailing round the bed and the timber block flooring in the bedrooms - such attention to detail. Beautiful - feeling inspired for a few little glow ups at home this year now.

Decorations of Christmas’s past, spanning our thee homes!

Well the last photo can be cut and pasted for 2011 through to 2016! I’m glad we have expanded our Christmas decorating since then, although it’s nice to see so many decorations on our current tree that we have had for years now!
