LUMPIALYMPICS 2026

What started as an idea amongst 6 Filipino Run Leads in the Lower Mainland to bring our communities together and celebrate our culture, our food, our heritage, transformed into an unforgettable and electric tradition.

With less than a month of planning, we truly didn’t know what the outcome would be — but all we knew was no matter what happened, we had no doubt that our communities would bring the ENERGY (and you freakin’ DID!!).

This event honoured Philippine Independence Day, celebrated Filipino Heritage Month in Canada, and most importantly, took a moment to celebrate the incredible people in our communities — the way we show up and celebrate one another, and a testament to the true art of how running, food and kapwa brings us all together.

We ate, we ran, we danced and we (tried our best) not to suka.

Maraming salamat po, to everyone who joined us in celebrating all that makes us so proud to be Filipino.

🤍💛💙❤️

A little bit of morning magic in the North Shore mountains.

After a morning safety brief and warm up with both our run and walk groups, we went off on our early morning adventure lounging Lynn Creek. The thing about our events is that we offer both run and walk options so you can *play your way*

Whether you want to take it slow or not, you’re always welcome with us.

I hope to see you at the next one. 🍃🫶🏾

LUMPIALYMPICS — a relay race for philippine independence day

Lumpialympics is a relay-style running event in celebration of Philippine Independence Day— organized and hosted by a few Filipino run leaders from enroute, 01RC, Evolve Run Club, WSDM Run Club, Saunter Run Club, and Path to Play. This event takes place on June 13th at 10am in Thomas Kidd Park, Richmond BC.

The premise is simple— a team of 8 runners (4 guys / 4 girls) race a 1km loop in pairs of 2 and eat lumpia in between each lap. The first team to finish all four laps wins bragging rights and prizes! The race will be capped at 15 teams.

There will be a $200 registration fee per team. The proceeds of which will go to @kidsportbc to help fund children’s athletic endeavours in the lower mainland.

Join us for a morning of cultural celebration and friendly local competition! Everyone is welcome.

This event is open to all ages and abilities! Come out and connect with some of the lower mainland’s most active running communities. There will be music, food, prizes, and lots of cheering!

Vehicle parking and restrooms will be available at Thomas Kidd Park.

Please find our Eventbrite link in our bios to register a team for the relay, and e-mail yvrpinoys@gmail.com if you have any questions.

See you there!

“PLAY” | aka Run 1 of our 4-Part LEARN Program🍃

Yesterday, our Walk and Run Group explored - Pacific Spirit Park, a local trail to our city that has been stewarded for centuries by the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm people, and sits on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Nation.

Our first run is intentionally focused on PLAY.

Why? Because there is too many spaces where we put *too much* pressure on ourselves to perform — whether at school, at work, our families or social networks, and especially our movement practices.

At Path to Play, we aspire to be the space that gives you the permission token to just 🍃be 🍃 — to let go and PLAY 🥹

Whether it’s your first time or 50th time on the trails, we want your first experience with Path to Play to be your reminder of what makes exploring the trails so beautiful: being immersed in the beautiful land around us, connecting to the land, and leaving more grounded and present.

Whether you walk, run, frolic, or skip — you belong on the trails, too 🫶🏽

See you next time, on Sunday June 14th for an Introduction to Diverse Terrain xx taken in Pacific Spirit Regional Park by @ourpathtoplay

Our 2026 Season is Officially Launching (very very soon)!

If you’re new here, hi! We are Path to Play!

Path to Play is a result of passion for movement and community. With a wonderful backcountry readily available at our doorstep, it made sense to build something that fostered a connection between community and nature. Trail running, a common passion shared between the founders, seemed like the easiest way to do this.

In our day to day, there’s an emphasis on success, performance, and productivity. Path to Play aims to do the exact opposite of that. There is no time objective, race to build up to, or comparison to anyone.

It’s about bringing people together outside to explore our innate ability for play and curiosity. It’s to provide a safe and welcoming space where can share knowledge, learn, and explore something new, different, and at times, challenging.

Our core program at Path to Play is our LEARN Program — designed to introduce beginners to the trails!

IMPORTANT: Access is important to us!
⭐️ Transportation: we offer carpooling support!
⭐️ Gear Library: don’t have a vest? We have one for you to borrow!

To learn more about what to expect in our program, swipe through or DM us.

We’re so so excited to explore the trails with you (very very) soon!

The rain stayed away & the community showed up for each other. 🌤️

Down to Earth last Saturday was everything and more, with birthday sing-alongs, walkers and runners hyping each other up on the trails, new connections, old friendships rekindled, doughnuts, and some incredible giveaways from @nike.

For many of us, it felt like walking back into a room full of friends. And that’s the whole point.

Thank you for joining us in kicking off the trail run season by celebrating this partnership between Path to Play x RunReady. It’s been such a rewarding journey collaborating together behind-the-scenes and in-person at events like these! In just a few months, we’ve achieved so much together and we can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us.

Thank you to our partners — @peacasasnacks , @leesdonuts.ca & @drink.normal — for keeping all of us well fed and hydrated with the post-run eats!

See you on the trails again very soon! 🍃

We gather with gratitude on the unceded traditional territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people.
