This place is breathtaking, but it is remote, raw, and not something I’d recommend winging.A few things to know before you go:1. Fly into Aktau airport. That’s where the tour starts. Flights are not included and will vary depending on where you fly from. Our flights actually cost more than our entire spend inside Kazakhstan 🥲2. Ideally, stay one night in Aktau before starting the tour. We went straight into the trip at 6am after an 18-hour journey, but I wouldn’t recommend that unless you enjoy chaos.3. 3 days / 2 nights was enough for us to cover all the places in this reel at a good pace. You can add or reduce days depending on your comfort level and budget.4. We chose wild camping to maximise our time in the landscapes. Staying in a yurt or city is possible, but you’ll spend a lot more time driving back and forth.5. The kind that makes you question if you’re still on Earth.But this trip is not easy in any means.Mangystau is remote, raw, dusty and uncomfortable in many ways. You can go days with barely another human in sight, no proper toilets, no hotels on the route, no restaurants to casually stop at, barely any signal and long drives on roads that are barely roads.And that’s exactly why you need to plan it properly.Please don’t try to wing this trip just because the views look beautiful online. Go with a trusted driver/guide who knows the routes, the conditions, the distances, and what to do when you’re completely out there with no one around.Follow us and Comment TOUR if you want our guide details ❤️Would we do it again? Full warning ‼️ end of the video ⚠️ DO NOT bring kids here… unless you’re ready for them to trade screens for sky, comfort for adventure, and normal playgrounds for the edge of the world like this!When I told the boys about this trend, I fully expected eye rolls.Instead, they said yes, improvised their own moves, and somehow… we did this in one take.A small miracle when you’re travelling with grumpy, opinionated teenagers and a mom who has absolutely no tolerance for that 😂But honestly, this is what I love most about trips like this.No distractions.No scrolling.No easy escape from each other.Just us, the road, a ridiculous landscape, and way too much togetherness.And somehow, that’s when we bond the most.I love that we still enjoy each other’s company, and I don’t take that for granted.And somehow, this silly little one-take trend became one of my favourite memories from the trip.The boys got the trend,The background understood the assignment!Who stole the show? Not Mars. Not AI. Not a movie set.Our 50th Country… and somehow we left Earth.No internet. No hotels. No restaurants. No toilets. Would you wait for this? The best part came after sunset.By the end, we couldn’t tell where the sky ended and the earth began - It felt like we were inside the sunset.When we booked this Bolivia trip, we knew reflections in late April weren’t guaranteed, so even getting rain felt like luck. But that same rain also came with disappointment …Incahuasi Island was flooded, and our overnight stay at the salt hotel had to be cancelled.At first, it really felt like we were missing out. But that change of plans gave us something we could never have arranged ourselves.. the most perfect reflections, extra time on the salt flats, and the chance to stay long after sunset with no rush.
