🛠️ DEMO DAZE 🛠️
the BIG DEMO is finally complete! here’s what you missed…
.
🛠️ Tore out the dirty old carpeting, tack boards & staples throughout the house covering the beautiful original wood flooring!!
🛠️ Removed the tiling covering the interior kitchen walls
🛠️ Hammered out the future entry archway and basement door in preparation for new framing
🛠️ Delicately demo-d all the original framing wood work & the stand alone kitchen cabinets (we’re saving these for future repairs/projects)
🛠️ Knocked down the wall between the living & dining room
🛠️ Completely removed the ceiling over the back side of the house (for our vaulted ceiling design!!)
…
🪜There’s still a few finishing touches before we begin insulating and closing the walls back up. we hoped to be finished with this before move-in—but as expected, things are taking a bit longer as we do it all ourselves! Can’t wait to share more with you as we fully move in this weekend! xo

here she is… #ourwinona BEFORE! 🤍 follow along as we transform our 1955 lake front ranch style home in nj from this time capsule, to a fresh updated space that fits our new life, with a mix of antique and modern features that bring the home into the 21st century. we have plans to renovate but most importantly to restore as much of the original features of the two bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen, dining room, living room and full half-finished basement as possible. more soon 🏡🪜🛠️ taken in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey by @ourwinona

3 hours of @ikeausa AURDEL installation + 1 #ttpdtheanthology of organizing and filling = 1 amazing closet worth getting dressed for!!

if you know me, you know how important having an organized and accessible wardrobe is for my mental state and for some reason it took me 2 years of living here to figure out what the perfect system and solution to this awkward closet space was.

funny enough it is the same system i used in my last jersey city apartment, obviously modified for this smaller space, but what a feeling to have this project completed ✔️

next up: changing out our bathroom vanity! stay tuned and look out for other project updates you’ve missed while we were busy with life this past year!!

finally resurrecting this page by hard launching Huckleberry Finn 💗🐾 our chocolate-tan dapple miniature dachshund!

our first month with you has been equal parts heart warming and hard. make no mistake— you’ve brought nothing but immense joy to our world so far and to everyone you meet.

-all people and pups are your friends, especially those 10x your size!

-you know no fear, aside from when someone sneezes, coughs, or cries (even on tv) and the most genuinely concerned look comes over your face…. our little caretaker. 🥹

-you manage to pack a mighty big personality inside that miniature body and we adore you endlessly for it.

-warm snuggles with you nuzzled in and on any available body part are among the best moments of my life. i really never liked having personal space anyway ☺️

-you make us laugh and smile more than ever, and you’ve made our hearts grow a few sizes while we learn to care for you and help you learn and grow.

our practice baby boy, we love you so much💗
