Election season’s coming up! Let’s talk about it 🗳️

Sarah Donaldson covers government, politics and elections for the Ohio Public Radio and Television Statehouse News Bureau. She has been awarded for her work by the Press Club of Cleveland and the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, and was recently named the 2026 Rising Star by the latter. Donaldson graduated from Ohio University in 2022, and during her four years in Athens, she worked for southeast Ohio affiliate WOUB Public Media and was the editor-in-chief of The New Political.

We have a new speaker this week! 📢✨

Andrew Geronimo is the Director of the Dr. Frank Stanton First Amendment Clinic within the Milton and Charlotte Kramer Law Clinic Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. His teaching and advocacy focus on civil litigation involving free speech, free press, and government transparency issues. He is a frequent speaker and commentator about local and national free speech controversies.

Bernhard Debatin is a current professor of media ethics and various areas of journalism at Ohio University. Professor Debatin was previously director of the Institute Center for Applied and Professional Ethics. He also is serving as the Honors Tutorial College director of studies for journalism. by @ouspj
