January: You are independent yet disciplined, waiting for the right time to make your move.

February: What a creative free spirit you are! You go where the wind takes you.

March: Kind-hearted and emotional, you make sure everyone else is okay first, be sure to take a little time for yourself.

April: You are an energetic risk-taker, boldly going where no cat, er, human has gone before.

May: You are practical and reliable, others look to you.

June: Your versatile and curious nature will lead you down paths untrod, and you'll enjoy the journey.

July: So caring, protective, and nurturing, you are appreciated by everyone in your life, even if they don't always express it.

August: Confident, strong, and ambitious; you are not afraid to stand up for what is right.

September: Ah, the detail-oriented perfectionist. Remember to stop and smell the roses.

October: A charming, well-balanced individual, you are able to make and keep friends easily.

November: Passionate and mysterious, you may be indecisive, but your heart is true.

December: What an adventurous, optimistic explorer you are! Always secure your footing, and follow your nose! by @outer_rim_art

What's in my orbit for fall 2026?

Paranormal in the PNW - a bookish and oddities event celebrating authors and artists at Odd Otter Brewing on Saturday, October 17th from 5pm-10pm. Come grab a pint, a book, and some local art! This one is free to attend!

Grit City Comic Show - one of my favorite conventions, this will be my fifth year tabling here! Saturday, November 7th from 10am-5pm at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. Come say hi! Tickets on sale now, $10 pre-purchase or $15 at the door.

Arts at the Armory - a gathering of Tacoma's own artists featuring demonstrations and art for sale. I'm very excited to finally participate in this Tacoma Arts Month event, I'll be there both Saturday and Sunday, November 14 & 15 from 11am-5pm at the Tacoma Armory. Free to attend!

Hope to see you at one or more event, I currently don't have any holiday shows lined up, but if anything changes I'll let you know ☕ by @outer_rim_art

Finished, framed, for sale!
The requested Star Wars piece (to be turned into an ornament, and it was!) is completed.

One of my favorite scenes from the OT

6" x 8" matted and framed, painted only with brewed coffee, a touch of water-based ink, and a sprinkle of salt ☕

Mugshot Monday!

Check out this awesome Tolkien-inspired mug by @manaandmud that I got at my last event. I so don't have room for more mugs but I couldn't leave without it!

Art prompt from @coffeeandshadows this week was to paint their cat with his coffee mug. I can't resist a coffee cat!

In the great pile of WIPs there lies Halloween Heads 2. The first one I completed a couple years ago was family friendly, this one not so much. We'll see how much progress I make this season.

Who else belongs on this one?

Happy Batman Day! The Dark Knight turned 87 this year, still looking pretty good though.

I painted this several years ago as an homage to his first appearance in Detective Comics no. 27

On this day in 1952, a woman, a National Guardsman, five children, and a dog in Flatwoods, West Virginia had a terrifying encounter with what is commonly referred to as the Flatwoods Monster.

The 10-foot tall monstrosity made a harrowing impression in them, and while all seven witnesses confirmed the general description, some details differed. When I painted my depiction of FM for my first series of Cryptid Inquirer Comics three years ago, I really liked the description of its "skirt" being made of pipes; potentially where the mist and foul odor emanated from. So that's how I chose to portray it. Of course it aligned perfectly to homage the first appearance of Vision in Avengers 57

@cryptonautpodcast gave me a lot of information with their initial episode about FM, and they recently released a seven-part revisit, with newly gathered details and possible other sightings in the area around the same time! Highly recommend.

The original painting - 9" x 12" made with coffee and ink - is available, I also have prints ☕

Cat cones coffee painting, and the two doofuses that inspired it. Don't worry, they're okay (they're just a little pathetic right now).
Gandalf had a suture removed last week, he's healing up nicely. Calcifer has an allergy flair-up, we're working on finding a solution.

Also, buy my art, support my cats!

The framed original is available through me, giclée prints are available at @gritcitymade ☕ by @outer_rim_art
