What has been inspiring you lately?

I just did a reprint from REIMAGINING THE NATURE OF WORK — a booklet and collective publication I created 2 years ago. It’s inspired by all the culture, color, craft and architectural beauty of Barcelona, my new home 💜

With open thread binding and embossing on the title ✨ I love it sooo much and hope you’ll do too!

Been dreaming about the romantic Italian summer, aperitivos, warm evenings on long, shared tables with family style meals, exploring cute towns and lingering in the shade of the olive trees in a quiet, lush garden? 🍝🇮🇹

Well, here’s your invitation for it!
I’ve curated your Italian summer experience, having studied and lives the Italian lifestyle for several months and years 🌞

This creative residency is a special moment, where you can let yourself go, drop all the expectations, hectic everyday life, commitments and things, and just be.

Enjoy as much pasta as you can eat, with 3 homemade meals by our wonderful chef @chef_francesca 🍝 sit under olive trees, listen to the birds and journal, get insight into local artists, visiting their studios and learning how to do botanical coloring of natural materials, and give yourself space again to listen to what’s in your own head. And have a community of people to share it with. To not be alone with your thoughts, but actually bring them to fruition 🌻

Some moments on film from last months @outofoffice.network residency

A few reflections:

- We need community most when we pivot.
Everyone in this group showed up at some kind of turning point. One person had been laid off and wanted to be intentional about what is coming next. Some were leaving long careers to finally bet on themselves. Others were coming back to work after becoming parents, job searching, or figuring out how to make their work sustainable while scaling their company. Or wanting to move countries. Sharing a space with people with different stories who all were at a shared moment was so powerful. Nobody’s path looked the same, and everyone left feeling a lot less alone.

- Community wisdom is the new currency.
Intentionally, there was no single „expert.“ When you bring the right people together, someone is always a few steps ahead of you on the exact thing you’re stuck on. This collective intelligence is what we can learn most from.

- Time away from work is an investment in our work.
For ambitious, busy people, focused in-person time doing non-work related things is such a valuable investment. Somewhere between creating natural dye bundles, immersing in nature, making pasta, or reading at the pool, you start hearing your own thoughts again. Saying them out loud to people who actually listen helps you find your language and your point of view. You go back connected to your center, and you move 10x more powerful from there.

- Bring your kids to work.
For one day, my daughter (and husband) joined us. Hosting with a little one def was a juggle, but I loved that she got to see a part of my work and how I connect with people. So much of our work happens on laptops, and our kids rarely get to see any of it.
I also invited an artist from Mexico City to come and share her story, and she brought her daughter too. While a room full of women listened to her mom, she curled up on her lap, BEAMING with pride ✨ Kids learn so much from watching us do what we love, and that afternoon she saw her mom as a role model in a whole new light.

It’s a wrap! We’re back from our Creative Residency in Italy 🧡 with a full heart and 5 days of dreaming up a more regenerative work/life ~ new possibilities ~ new chapters ~ making friends ~ eating amazing, nourishing Italian food ~ workshopping creative living ~ learning natural dyes ~ visiting artist studios ~ group support ~ listening ~ and working on new projects.

Over the past year I’ve started to curate creative experiences for people to step away from their day-to-day, and immerse themselves, for a moment, into a different world — to see their own path & themselves more clearly, and reconnect with inspiration and creativity.

Visiting an artist studio, creative workshops to get away from the screen and use your hands, vision workshops to reconnect to how you want to work & live (most recently hosted at @offfest), field trips to a local museum, dinner salons & lunches to build community with others who are reimagining how to build a life and career that feels inspiring and energizing, and… creative residencies to bring all of that together for an extended period of time 🌻

Next week, 10 amazing humans from all across the globe and different walks of life come together in Italy for our annual creative residency, and I can’t wait to take you along the journey!

We all have so many versions of ourselves — and possible life paths ahead of us (sketching out life paths is one of my fav tool for dreaming what’s possible!)

Me for instance, half of me wants to live in the countryside, with a garden, doing pottery, crafting jewelry and picking fruit all day, the other half wants to be featured in a magazine, sharing her approach to building a creative business and life — and as @the_______place wrote so perfectly „they meet every morning for coffee“ 😂

in order to manifest different versions, and invite parts of them into your life, i love getting in touch and spending time with people who are living a path that I aspire to life one day. Maybe not the exact version, but parts of that. Ask questions how they make it work, what life looks like for them, and then gradually build your own version of that.

AND you don’t have to go through it alone.

With our Creative Residency you have space to bring all the topics that have been sitting in your head and you didn’t have the space (or community, or time…) to talk about. To slow down. To get reinspired. To have fun and take things lightly. Because you are the architect of your own life. And you can do whatever you want.

A few weeks ago, Out of Office invited me to join one of their workshops with local artisans. I chose the jewellery one because, just a week earlier, I’d found a beautiful piece of sea glass on Badalona beach.

And this is Anna @aguamargastudio – our jewelery wizard for today. She creates beautiful jewelery herself and works in this precious building in Gracia.

Anna showed us the ancient technique of wax molding – it was so meditative! The hardest part was inventing the form of the future ring, not making it:)

Tadaa! 2 hours later my wax model is done and ready for casting in silver!
