Half Days came back to #SanFrancisco last week and the whole thing felt exactly like it should.

We filled @barapriljean with a mix of founders, operators, creatives, media folks, agency people, and executives from across the Bay. @molinaridelicatessen ’s sandwiches. Drinks flowing all afternoon. Good jams on. Easy energy throughout.

A block away, Howard Gee and the crew at @abfits opened up the shop for guests to get fitted and styled while specialty cocktails circulated through the space. Before long, the fitting room became its own extension of the party.

Our version of a North Beach block party.

Big thanks to everyone who came through.

Field Notes, Dispatch 02.

This edition is built around places that change your pace a little.

Hotels, retreats, and environments that don’t ask much from you beyond showing up and settling in. The kinds of places where mornings stretch longer, conversations feel less transactional, and people slowly return to themselves a bit.

Some are new. Others have been quietly doing this for decades. What they share is an ability to create the conditions for people to reconnect, reset, and actually be present.

Party at @chasingrabbitsvail in #Vail — somewhere between a dinner party, a fever dream, and a very loose interpretation of Alice in Wonderland.

Aerialists overhead, disco ball heads drifting through the crowd, and a choose-your-own-adventure style potion handed out as guests walked in. One of those evenings that unfolded slowly, revealing a little more depth, energy, and chaos as the night went on.
