I love what I do. I love the community I’m in, the communities we serve. I love the friends I get to work with everyday. I love pouring art even when my hands are shaky and my form feels off. I love the rain hitting the roof of the coffee shop while it’s packed full with people from all over, near and far. I love sitting in here alone at the end of the day, soaking in the lingering energy from the day. I love the sanctuary a third space can provide for so many humans. I love the many experiences. I love the many people who walked through the doors for the first time years ago and are now a vital part of my life. I love being a better part of a persons day (and for some of you the worst part lol)

What we as a community have built here is special - not just in the hilltop but columbus as a whole. We have a special community of wonderful people and we are so proud to be a part of it all.

puerto rico 2024

we saw some cool things, learned about new communities and made new friends. the best part was honestly just being alone with Sarah. away from it all, on an island.

didn't realize how burned out i was, how tired and how foggy my mind and heart were. it was starting to show, i know it.

gotta get away sometimes folks. my gratitude runs deep for all of you who covered for me while i was gone. specifically @iscaella and @madelinthebold - you two not only held down the fort, you made it stronger❤️ and @jacobrush2006 for taking care of our 4 animals - you a real one lil bro. and thankful to my parents who saved us several $100 uber rides and free parking @john_c_rush and @rushfamily10

now, im back. rested. reconnected. refueled. and deeper in love with myself and my wife.

since december 15th, 2017 this space has been home to so much. it’s hard to put into words my emotions recently. happy. proud. in love. thankful. reflective. anxious. blessed (if that’s an emotion). i had no idea where I’d be in 5 years when i was pulled in by my dad (very convincing fella) to help run third way for a little while. haha. a little while. I had no idea how great my love for the community would grow, I had no idea the many many people that would care for me, love me, support me and help us build such an incredible community rooted in the simple idea of pursuing something greater than ourselves. today, I sat in a somewhat empty third way space, 3058 w broad st, alone. surreal. was the feeling. i could feel the energy, ambience, the absolute power of community stemming from the walls around me. as i sat there, I had a perfect view of the what now is our communities house of coffee. i wasn’t sad. 3058 space has PERFECT view of its little brother 3059 housing the same community, the same love, the same vibes that it has housed these past few years. i know, as I hope you do, that this space that I now sit in, though a bit empty - will yet again, very soon - house it’s community again - as always - in an even bigger and more exciting capacity. by creating a coffee house across the street, this only allows for MORE community space. i know that, though it will not be through coffee, this space will continue to serve its community well. the future of the hilltop is truly bright. you can already see it. and it’s not just me, it’s not just my dad, it’s not just third way or broad n westmoor. it’s ALL of us. WE have built this, WE are laying the ground for future stones to be built on. i am blessed to be a part of it, blessed to have you all, honored to serve you, proud to be a son of a dad who has invested into me and never hesitated to correct me and teach me, undeserving of the community of friends around me that constantly hold me accountable, support me and love me. unexplainably thankful for the team here at third way coffee house, past and present. thankful for the many coffee genius’ in cbus that have poured into me. i love you all. cheers. thank you❤️ by @outtapockettim
