I'm incredibly honored to receive the Audience Award at the Short Out Festival. The response to Full Fat was truly overwhelming, and seeing the audience connect with the film made the entire journey worthwhile.

This has been one of the biggest highlights of the film's festival run. Thank you to everyone who watched, laughed, and voted! We're so grateful for your support.

3 things every indie filmmaker in Toronto needs to know!

Amir Honarmand( @oveis_h ) shares the blueprint for protecting your vision and surviving production:

• Pitch every collaborator like an investor. Even if you’re paying your team, pitch the project in a way that gets them as emotionally and creatively invested in the story as you are.

• Don’t guess on legalities—consult a lawyer. Whether you’re navigating local production rules or international film laws, find an expert with the actual knowledge to protect your work.

• Quality must outlive overrated ideology. Don’t let a specific message take over the cinematic quality of your film just to check a box. When festivals gatekeep by only selecting films that reflect their preferred narrative, the entire industry suffers—prioritize great storytelling anyway.

Send this to someone who needs to hear it✨

The day a dream gift turns into a trap📱

“Silkworm is a story born from a real-life moment on the streets of Tehran,” says director Amir Honarmand( @oveis_h ). “The film explores poverty and inequality through a boy who unknowingly inherits a stranger’s secrets via a stolen smartphone.”

When you’re trapped in poverty, an iPhone feels like a miracle. But miracles usually don’t come with a hidden cost... and the owner just called.
