Earlier this month our humble pop-up cinema club SECRET CEREMONY was featured in @spectator1828, who covered our summer solstice screening of ‘The Wicker Man’ with @dashthehengestore

We’re very proud of this big byline! Our editor @nsmlles started SECRET CEREMONY club as a knee-jerk reaction; bored to tears by Hollywood and sick of CGI.

The goal of our club is to screen weird, beautiful & overlooked films in weird, beautiful & overlooked surroundings, as well as bring together a community of equally weird and wonderful cinephiles and general culture vultures. It’s so exciting to see the work we do being recognised in such a thoughtful way 💞

Now, watch this space, for this won’t be the last time we go to church 🕯️ by @over.here.media

‘I am being led towards Jodrell Laboratory - home of the restricted-access Molecular Biology lab at one of the world’s most celebrated gardens, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (AKA Kew Gardens).

It’s a gorgeous Friday afternoon during the sunniest summer in living memory, and the evidence is all around us. The sun beats down on a modern Garden of Babylon pushed too far, with parched plants – in every shade of wilting brown – creating an off-colour rainbow of warning.

But this is the place where humanity prepares for all ecological possibilities, so my host – a petite brunette with a lab coat over one arm, a shy smile, and a leafy face tattoo curling around one eye and down her cheekbone – seems unconcerned. The real biodiversity is inside.
She’s working on it.’😎

We’re incredibly excited to share this Friday’s feature: an interview with @daisy.elektra 💛💫💛

Hers is a varied and rich life-story, the kind the media often avoids acknowledging. But we refuse to pigeonhole the human experience.

The French Riviera was an artist’s paradise. It inspired Claude Monet’s use of light and Yves Klein’s dazzling blues, while Henri Matisse and Andre Derain’s Mediterranean scenes featured such shocking colours that infuriated critics called them ‘les fauves’—‘the wild beasts’.

The Royal Academy’s (@royalacademyarts) exhibit is a history of artistic revolutions, all prompted by the boundless skies and vivid seas of the Riviera. Featuring iconic creatives alongside more obscure names, it celebrates the imaginations shaped by the Côte d’Azur.

Until 31 January 2027, visit France for the price of a museum ticket. by @over.here.media

Thrilled to have been featured in @over.here.media ‘s new printed issue. Thankyou to @nsmlles for championing my ideas and providing a space to write and read about all things alternative, esoteric and truly wonderful ✨
In this issue, I got to write about all things Witches and stitches, inspired by my Mother’s hand knitted red bonnet 🧶

Slide I is a sneak peak at my article, slide II is the beautiful front cover created by @kuca_magda

IT’S HERE! ⚡️🔥⚡️ last week, we celebrated the launch of our latest print magazine.

This issue is a real beaut, with two gorgeous covers. That’s cause it’s got two themes (GUTS OF ALBION + MERRIE ENGLAND), so the mag can be read starting from either the front or the back. 🔥

We’ve redesigned the whole mag, changing everything from the paper to the size to the layout. It was a risk.

Even more risky was the decision to change our name. LOST ART is dead. Long live OVER HERE. (We’ll be sharing more about this soon - but suffice to say nothing else about who we are will change).

Then again, doing anything analogue - like print - while remaining 100% independent is seriously risky business.

But we made it, and in no small part thanks to the amazing & talented contributors, supporters and friends of the mag for whom we threw this decadent knees up. It was risky too… but in a different way (those alcoholic jellies sneak up on you. Shout out to @unusual.service for sorting us out!) 👯‍♀️🪩

So again, to everyone who was there and was part of this issue, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. We love you, and having you all in the same room meant THE WORLD 🌍.

Special thanks to the most secret and saucy @lighthouse_soho for hosting us 🫶

We visit flame-haired lingerie and fetish designer, Daniela Corcio @ikonostas_id to talk about her ultra-playful brand @ikonostas_clothes.desire 🔥🔥🔥

And she’s a fire-cracker. Here she is on her design process: “‘When I was making this kimono, I thought, underneath you’d have to wear knickers. I don’t like knickers! So! I made the straps even longer and I thought this has to be my knickers!’

She hoicks up her skirt and with a flourish of flying silks ties the straps of the kimono into a kind of banded, vintage-style crossover pantie.
Absolute genius.”

WE LOVE SHONA SLEMON!! ⚡️🫶🔥 and if you’re anything like us, you will too.

Hop it down to Wilton Way Gallery for an odyssey of cowboy boots, a pint-slurping snake, a sprinkle of fairies, martinis, Marlboros and lashings of good old-fashioned mischief 🐍🧚‍♀️🍸🌚

‘I’m interested in the objects we reach for when life becomes too much,’ says Shóna Slemon, ‘the sacred, the sentimental, the pharmaceutical and the absurd.’ Her exhibition ‘ARCHIVE OF MESS’ looks at the rituals and objects we turn to when life feels overwhelming, from antidepressants and domestic relics to everyday vices.

Catholic imagery and Irish Celtic paganism sit alongside punk lyrics, Western grit and pop culture. It’s a personal look at the ways we cope, what we find comfort in, and the meaning we give to the things around us.

If you’d like to catch this show, there’s no time to waste: visit it before October 5th at Wilton Way Gallery @shonaslemon.art @thewiltonwaygallery @annamch.art @jubbigeorgiarose by @over.here.media

Earlier this month, SECRET CEREMONY brought another banger to the big screen - this time at @referencepoint180 🔥

We showed Derek Jarman’s EDWARD II, and our founder @nsmlles interviewed the one and only @thesandypowell, three-time Oscar-winning costume designer about her early work on this film. 🧥🪡👚👗

We talked about Tilda Swinton’s earrings (obviously) but we also talked about funding cuts and how hard it is to make indie films now. At the end, an audience member asked, “is there any good news for the industry or audiences?”

To which Sandy replied that people are rediscovering great works from the past - Derek Jarman’s included.

This is what SECRET CEREMONY is all about; bringing extraordinary cinema back into the room… and getting people to chat about it. 😎

Over here, we believe in having fun. That’s why we sent our food columnist @barneypau - along with his trusty digi camera - to sample the wonders of the Refuel Bar at @thesoho_hotel. 💚

They’ve got a menu called ‘Nine Regions Cocktail Menu’ which champions the best of British produce with ingredients from nine distinct counties. 🍏🍸🍹🍯

Barney tried them all… and you probably should too. Full review via link in bio 🔗 by @over.here.media

Something is happening at St Bride’s next week. x

Your ears only hear what they think.
