When @rageagainstthemachine was recording their debut album at Sound City Studios, the band unanimously decided against using any kind of artificial sound, synth, sample, or techniques. They wanted the album to sound raw and of the people.

So the band threw a party while they were recording, played the entire set in front of a live audience, took the recording and published the album. The result? A sonic masterpiece. The album went 3x Platinum and lead single from the album, Killing In The Name Of, crossed a billion streams on Spotify in early 2025.

Happy 34th Anniversary to Rage Against The Machine’s self-titled album.

The only surviving song from the original ‘Hot Fuss’ lineup, made @thekillers an iconic band overnight.

This is the story of ‘Mr. Brightside’, how it started as a painful memory of Vegas and ended up being adopted in the UK. Not to forget, most recently, a FIFA World Cup Hydration Break regular track.

P.S. - God bless the woman who cheated on Mr. Flowers. And thank you, ma’am.

Amongst all the rock bands that I love from the '00s, @incubusofficial will always have a special place in my heart. Funky basslines, energetic DJ segues and a flawless frontman @brandonboyd holding it all together.

It's been 25 years since my favourite Incubus album, Morning View. And it has been 9 years since their last album, featuring one of my favourite rock songs ever, State of the Art.

In 2026, I only Wish You Were Here (with an album), Incubus.

The world will continue to exist within its confined space of norms and regulations, unless someone tries to bend the rules from within. When I heard @marilynmanson for the first time, the thing that clicked with me, beyond his music, was how he presented a rendition of his own free world, albeit grotesque and atmospheric.

While the ordinary universe may not agree with his Shock Rock antics, the Mephistophilis of Los Angeles will forever be known as the rockstar who had a special charm on the 19-year-old me when I heard Heart Shaped Glass for the first time. A maverick in navigating harsh realities and delivering unhinged prophecies of a new world order.

🗣️ SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU

There's no better example of launching yourselves into stardom and creating instant generational impact than @linkinpark 's Hybrid Theory (2000).

A Nu Metal cocktail of rap, rock and DJing, that resonated with and raised an entire generation.

Hybrid may be 26 years old today, but it's still as fresh.

Unlike in the UK, here in India, @fontainesband has been flying low for quite some time. Personally, Starbuster was my first exposure to this amazing Dublin-based band but I think I fell in love when I heard Skinty Fia, from front to back.

With 3 months to go, and an amazing 5th studio album out last Friday, @lollaindia will be jumping to the energy of Grian Chatten and co.

P.S. - Thank you Cillian Murphy.

Music is so magical at times that it bends to no boundaries.

When @grimes watched the Sanjay Leela Bhansali epic Bajirao Mastani, she was instantly put into the shoes of the warrior princess, Mastani, who had premonitions of seeing her lover die of fever.

That’s what she chose to write about in her 2019 song, 4AEM, which travelled far and wide, thanks to its integration into CD Projekt RED’s video game Cyberpunk 2077.

An already great song that meets the scale of Grimes' music production powers.

One fine morning, I accidentally discovered @lolayounggg through her song Conceited.

The structure of the song and the funky texture instantly took me back to Arctic Monkeys and their song, "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?"

Turns out Alex Turner and Arctic Monkeys, especially the album AM, heavily inspired her musical journey.

As I dug deeper into her discography, I realised what an amazing singer she is. And why the world must listen to her with more diligence.

A 10-year old Billie Joe Armstrong ran away from his father's funeral, locked himself in his room and told his folks to wake him up when September ended. This memory went on to forge one of rock's most iconic songs.

Here's a reminder why American Idiot by @greenday will always be a memory of me taking an 18 hour train back home, and getting excited for Pujos.

Remember to check in to any band that is either inspired by #TheStrokes or has their DNA in their music.

When I first heard @balubrigada , I was shocked to know such a talented rock band walked this planet in 2025! Groovy guitars, charismatic bass riffs, and a loud call to return to rock from two Kiwi brothers.

S/O to Twenty One Pilots for recognising their worth. Fingers crossed for their rise to fame.

This album is sacrosanct to me because nothing in the electronic scene has ever come close to this level of perfection, since the last 13 years.

But I don't want to hold onto it like a memento. I want the real @daftpunk back.

The easiest way (for me) to trust an artist I've never heard before, is by finding out that they look up to, or reference bands, that you've grown up on.

All these artists were impacted by #LinkinPark in one way or another.
