Stay away from people that only care about money 💰🚫. There is no judgement towards anyone. However, that mentality is harmful and only contributes to the selfishness, greed, and lack of empathy and concern that people have today for one another. Money is not all that should be valued. There is no satisfying a greedy appetite, even money cannot cure all of our issues. It’s a tool only. Placing money above the value of a human life is part of how society got to where it is now. Defining someone’s love for you by how much money they can give you is part of how we arrived to the individualist mentality that society now has. It’s dangerous and a threat to our growth. Pray that God changes the hearts of those that think this way.

Mass Incarceration is one of the most expensive and degrading industries that has been set in place. It is indeed slavery, legalized through the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. At Constitution Day, professor Rebecca Beibel and Mercer County College has ensured that those who have lived experience were able to express themselves on this platform.
The system that fuels mass incarceration is motivated by greed, social and cultural control, and hatred for humanity. Slavery is gruesome and has always been the driving force of wealth for this nation. Instead of chattel slavery on plantations, slavery has transformed into prisons resembling concentration camps. The goal has not been rehabilitation or correction, it has been control and greed.
This reality can change. However it starts with those who are first fed up with the reality. The Truth is in front of our faces and it is not being hidden. It’s time to address this structure with the correct approach. Constitution Day was centered on making that approach.

On August 8th, 2022, there was a major turning point for me in my life. It was the first time that I allowed what was inside of me to be heard by those around me. This message was to people in my environment, enduring the same circumstances that I was enduring, who were struggling and experiencing hatred, oppression, harassment, belittlement, disrespect, discrimination, and racism.

What began as honest expression became a speech. The journey after this has been amazing, to say the least, and I have outgrown the lifestyle and mentality that I was stuck in for so long.

At Saturday’s Open Mic, “Words Hit Different Here,” I spoke this speech. As you listen to a portion of the speech, please try to envision who I was speaking to.

This was the day in our environment when Christians and Muslims began to be kind to each other and respect each other as human beings first. This made us stronger than we’ve ever been.

Please hear this speech. It is the first speech I ever wrote. 🤲🏾

When life is filled with burdens, we now know that when we make each other’s problems “our” problems, we can lean on each other, pour into each other, and become resourceful. There is no need to live or struggle alone when you have community.

The community came out to support, show love, give back, and invest in the community. Major salute to all who helped pour into the community. We’ve been denied help in many areas; however, we now know that together, we can achieve great things.

Major thanks to God, first and foremost. Major salute to all who donated. Major salute to all who came and supported. Major salute to our brothers who helped make this happen. Major salute to the Overcomers Intervention Unit, which is dedicated to being more active in the community. Major salute to Second Chance Mentoring, who went out of their way to pour into the youth and give back to the community. Major salute to Mt. Zion.

Divine missions have become, and are still becoming, reality. Personal missions are being fulfilled.

Much love to everyone ❤️‍🔥.

Money should not be a goal 🚫. Money is merely a tool for us to achieve our goals ☑️. Money is giving more reverence, praise, value than what it actually deserves; and in turn we see the economic and social disaster that we see now in society and in this world.
People sell their labor to barely make ends meet, others resort to underground alternatives and crimes, others believe that as long as they pursue money, their identity is in tact. This is furthest from the Truth. When money becomes our sole goal, we become slaves to it. Our death sentence begins right there; there is no satisfying an appetite that is hungry for money.
Set a goal, keep your eyes fixed on the Most High and pursue your goals with money in hand as a tool and tool only. Don’t worship money, don’t root your identity in it. The moment you do, you begin to lose internally and contribute to the endless competition of finances that we see now that breeds war, corruption, illness, division, greed, starvation and poverty. Be rich in Spirit.

Overcoming circumstances and internal battles is the intention. Not allowing what we’ve been through and still go through to consume us. We are not slaves to circumstances or pain, we have the ability and the power to overcome it. That’s what we will do.
Peace is achieved as an individual before it can ever be achieved as a collective. Pursuing mental, emotional, and spiritual peace is first. Peace comes when growth comes; peace comes when we let go off what’s hurting and harming. When we choose peace, we choose what’s better over our lives.

Accepting reality and Truth is the first stage of our growth. If we don’t accept reality and hold ourselves accountable, we will only continue to become worse. Nevertheless, it’s important that we hear the Truth so that we do not become consumed by lies. The youth—young men and women who are still figuring out their place in this world—should not be subjected to only lies, delusions, and deceptions. The youth should be poured into correctly, with power and words that contribute to their growth, not their demise.

What we see now is a flawed culture and an identity crisis for many people. The desire to be socially accepted has led people to neglect their true personalities and aspirations and conform to what society expects of us and labels us. What we see is evident: murder is praised, drug and alcohol abuse is praised, disrespecting the dead is praised, being sexually immoral is praised, and being deceitful, selfish, greedy, and materialistic is all praised. If people do not conform to these standards, they’re labeled “weird” and criticized simply for being misunderstood.

Why do we only gravitate toward what hurts us, both as individuals and as a collective? When does sincerity become a factor?

The decisions we’ve made and the experiences of our lives should not deter the youth from reaching their full potential. What we do and how we maneuver—it all impacts the youth. Why should the youth be subjected to what we refuse to overcome? Why should the youth have to pay for our decisions?

It stops with us the moment we decide it does.

This is where true growth and prosperity happen: after addressing what’s inside of us—the things that hinder us from reaching our fullest potential.

Durk “Lil Durk” Devontay Banks, known simply as “Lil Durk” is a rapper from Chicago who became popular during the drill era. Lil Durk has become an icon and has become someone that many people, especially young men of color, desire to emulate.
Lil Durk is currently on trial for several federal charges including murder for hire. If he loses trial, God forbid, he will be facing life imprisonment. Nevertheless, Lil Durk has made sure that the community and his fans heard a message from him as he called home from his federal jail.
Durk has said that he is tired of being a pawn for the culture; and he is done misleading the youth and seeks to the guide them in a direction where they can become successful, safe, and above a lifestyle that only ends in institutional slavery, death, and generations of trauma.
Many people glorify Durk, adopting his thoughts and hanging on every lyric that he raps. This here may be by far the most important message he has ever relayed. Pray for him.

“Dear God” is a book that I wrote to address social, cultural, and systemic issues that continue to burden us today. Written from prison cell, I used not only the information that I’ve gained from studying, but also my experience from what I’ve endured and the chaos that has been occurring around me. If there is no other gift that I have, I can at least be assured that writing, revealing messages and expressing myself through pen on paper is one that I have been blessed with. This is why the first book I’ve ever published is called “Dear God”. Before I go any further, I’d like to tribute the book to Him, because He first gave me the ability to write when I never knew I could.
Suffering in this world has intensified throughout time. Tragedies, depression, death, illness, a lot of it is unnecessary. It is my hopes that this book can be a well to help address these issues. I hold solutions that many have not tried yet. I hope that this can be a start towards a new journey. Link in bio!

Community Day was a heartwarming, fun, and outstanding experience 🏘️🌳🥊. Pivotal Point Empowering Project had an amazing first year Community Day. Both youth and adults enjoyed themselves, and it’s safe to say that they community felt like family 🫂🥊🏘️. We appreciate everyone who came to enjoy. Moments like this are to be cherished, and memories are created to be held on to 💭❤️‍🔥. We are looking forward to many more. This is the mission and goal of P.P.E.P., to serve the community 🏠🏐🏟️.

During a court hearing, the judge is asking if it will be beneficial to the state if she sentences this young man to life imprisonment. The State (Prosecutor) explains that it will be beneficial and he explains why —

The Prosecutor explains that the incarcerated man is “young” and “healthy”, and that he will put him “out there to work”. For the remainder of his life sentence, he will be forced to do slave labor; strenuous work with no meaningful wages that will wear and tear on his body. This is legalized slavery through the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Slave labor which is here translated to “sweat equity” is what the State deems as beneficial. The ideal of this young man laboring for the rest of his life with no meaningful wages and being confined to a prison cell is an attractive ideal to them that incites the Judge to give him a life sentence.

Mass incarceration is an industry. It is not to punish, correct, or rehabilitate, it is simply to capitalize off the decisions made from individuals navigating through a discriminating and harsh economy. Mass incarceration is an industry simply to generate money. This is what we must realize before stepping forward making certain decisions.
