Two Four today.

As a dad, I don’t measure success by titles, money, or accomplishments.

I look at character. Work ethic. Integrity. How you treat people. What you do when things get hard.

You’ve shown all of those.

Nothing has been handed to you. You’ve worked for what you’ve earned, and Mom and I couldn’t be prouder of the man you’ve become.

Your brothers are lucky to have you setting the example.

Still thinking about the past couple days.

Turning 50 hit different, mostly because I had everyone I love under one roof at the same time. My immediate family, plus friends and family who showed up in big moments across my life. Different seasons, different chapters, same people who helped shape me into who I am today.

And then there’s the next up. My kids, my nieces and nephews, the next generation right there with us. Laughing, dancing, and making new memories.

None of this happens without @momof3dboys Jaime. She planned the whole thing with so much care and thought, and somehow made it feel easy. It was a beautiful night because of her. 💯 Thqnk you babe!

Also worth noting, at 50 years old, the cops still showed up with a noise complaint. So yeah, we still got it. 👮‍♂️🚨

Then I somehow ended the night laughing my ass off at @jokoy stand up, which felt like the perfect way to end the celebration- with a huge smile.

I just keep thinking how fast it all goes. I wish time would slow down a little so I could keep laughing with all my people longer.

Please help me wish Desmin @descastroo.2 a Happy Birthday 🎉 Its hard for me to grasp that my baby boy is now SEVENTEEN! We are extremely proud of the young man he is becoming. Being the youngest of the squad is not easy. You are built with toughness from your older brothers and must find your own identity and voice. Crazy to type this out. My boy is TWENTY, Two Oh! 20. Having two boys now in their twenties is amazing! We are so blessed 💯 Please help me celebrate @damian.castr0 birthday by DMing him a message of shared wisdom that he can take into his life. I am so lucky to be surrounded by amazing and smart people. Still can’t believe we pulled off this Japan trip.
DisneySea, TeamLab, Shibuya, Tokyo Dome, Onsen… 25k steps a day and somehow still had energy to laugh every night. We ate everything, made memories we’ll never forget, and soaked up every minute together.

What a season.
So proud of our boys—Damian and Desmin.

For Damian, this was the final chapter of his high school basketball journey. Bittersweet for sure, but what a ride it’s been. We’re so thankful we got to watch him compete one more season and end it strong. He made the team better—not just on the court, but with his presence, leadership, and heart. And now, it’s on to even bigger things… graduation, college, and a whole new chapter where we know he’ll keep shining. Oh—and let’s not forget he made First Team All-Academic with a 4.22 weighted GPA!

And Desmin—man, what a season he had. He stepped up, contributed in big ways, and grew into a real leader on the team. His competitiveness, energy, and IQ for the game showed every time he hit the court. We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to see how much more he levels up next year.

Dear Damian,

We’ve seen you step onto the court as a freshman, full of potential. We’ve seen you step away, searching for something more. We’ve seen you grow into a leader, training the next generation. And this year, we watched you come back—not just to play, but to play for your brothers. No ego, no shortcuts—just heart.

We know this one hurts. We know how much you poured into this season. And in moments like this, it’s easy to focus on the loss. Hold your head high. Because what you’ve built—the relationships, the respect, the brotherhood—that’s forever. Wins and losses fade. But the way you showed up, the way you led, the way you played for something bigger than yourself—that’s what lasts.

And the best part? Your younger brother got to witness it all, right there on the court with you. That’s rare. That’s special. That’s something you both will carry with you long after the final buzzer.

Basketball doesn’t define you. Your character does. And what you’ve shown this year—resilience, leadership, heart—tells us everything we need to know.

Another great season for Desmin! He played a big part of the JV success this season and look forward to watching his journey as his game evolves. I am most proud that he does not get caught up in the social media hype and trying to be something he is not.
