PLAYER(S) OF THE MATCH πŸ‰πŸ”₯ Sponsored by Biltong Boyz Hard to split Nadeesha Wickramenyaka & Liam Fitzpatrick after our 29–13 win over Stompers! πŸ’™βš“ πŸ”₯ Nadeesha terrorised the defence with his pace and footwork, scoring two tries in a brilliant display. πŸ’ͺ Liam was everywhere β€” huge tackles, powerful carries, gain-line breaks and two tries to cap off a superb performance. A well-deserved joint recognition in a strong team performance! πŸ‘ πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ THANK YOU, ELIOTT A big thank you to Eliott Steiger (pictured middle), who played his final game for Overseas before returning to Sweden. Our tricky scrum-half was a constant threat β€” and somehow always managed to be just out of reach when a tackle was coming! πŸ˜‚ Good luck, Eliott. πŸ’™βš“ πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί THANK YOU, SAM A huge thanks to Sam Eden, who joined us in Malta with ambitions of representing the national team. Dominant in the scrum, calm under pressure and a fierce ball carrier. πŸ’ͺ Sam now moves on to Falcons and Stompers before returning to Australia. Thanks for everything, boys β€” and all the best for what comes next! πŸ’™βš“ #OverseasRugby #MaltaRugby #RugbyUnion #BoysInBlue #RugbyFamily by @overseasrufc
WHAT A WIN FOR MALTA! πŸ‡²πŸ‡ΉπŸ”₯ Huge congratulations to the Malta Rugby League team on a remarkable 29–28 victory over Germany β€” a historic result that saw the Malta Knights become the first visiting side to beat Germany on home soil! πŸ‘ The Knights produced an incredible comeback after finding themselves 22–6 down at half-time, showing tremendous character and determination to turn the game around. A special mention to former Overseas player Zarrin Galea, now with Workington Town, who was instrumental in the comeback with a sensational hat-trick of tries. What a performance! πŸ‡²πŸ‡ΉπŸ”₯ We’re incredibly proud that nine Overseas players were part of the Malta squad β€” the largest contingent from any local club. πŸ’™βš“ Representing your country is the ultimate honour any sports person can achieve, and one that very few get the opportunity to experience. For our nine players, this is a moment they will remember for the rest of their lives. We’ll continue to support our players as they pursue their national ambitions and proudly represent Malta on the international stage. Congratulations to all the players, coaches and staff on a famous victory! πŸ‡²πŸ‡ΉπŸ’™βš“ #MaltaRugby #MaltaRugbyLeague #MaltaKnights #RugbyLeague #OverseasRugby by @overseasrufc
FULL TIME: OVERSEAS 29–13 STOMPERS πŸ‰πŸ”₯ A big first league win for the boys in blue to kick off the season! πŸ’™βš“ A strong team performance sees us come away with a 29–13 victory over Stompers, with plenty to celebrate. πŸ”₯ Nadeesha Wickramenyaka crossed twice, including a brilliant solo effort for his first try β€” stepping, weaving and leaving defenders in his wake! πŸ’ͺ Liam Fitzpatrick also grabbed a brace as the attack continued to fire. ⭐ And there was a special moment for Gilbert Sarian, who scored his first try in Overseas colours after a fantastic flowing team move, finished off following a quick-tap penalty in our own half. A well-deserved reward for Gilbert after stepping up from the 2XV and putting in the work. πŸ‘πŸ’™ A great effort from the whole squad today. 29–13. Job done. πŸ’™βš“ #TopoftheTable #OverseasRugby #MaltaRugby #RugbyUnion #BoysInBlue by @overseasrufc
